Thanks, but I'll hand the laptop over to my wife, who will tell you I don't do 60 minutes of anything ... conscious.

Buffalo beat Tampa Bay 3-1. Nashville and Detriot about to start. We need Nashville to at least win.

Well since Tampa didn't win today. I was saying at least we can get a win by Nashville which obviously didn't happen neither.

Butler couldnt even get a shot off on that penalty shot when it was still 1-0. unreal.
Filip Forsberg made his NHL debut today as well. The Preds have 6 rookies in the lineup now. unreal.

It wont really solve the problem with Lowe still there. He often pulls strings to get his GM to do his wishing. Think of it like Snider and Holmgren with the Bryzgalov contract

Hearing Craig MacTavish is new EDM GM and Scott Howson will be taking over MacTavish's role. As per @TSNRyanRishaug, EDM fires Tambellini.

MacTavish seems like a weird choice. I know he's working with Edmonton right now, but still.

What's everyone's thoughts on the new trailer/features for NHL 14?

I bought 13 and probably played it like 5 times. Granted I really don't play video games that much in general but I still thought it was lousy. Anyway 14 looks pretty good. I'm feeling like they may have sucked me in again with the new fighting/hitting engines and the new be-a-pro mode.

EDM has an absolutely horrendous track record of only hiring internally. 4 years ago today, Tambo replaced MacT.... that's insane.

Surprised he's still marketable ..then again despite the bad Carter deal he... so far negated that with acquiring Bob

/rant

I didn't buy 13 because I was pleased with 12 but after seeing the list of hitting/fighting /skating improvements on the game I thoght that I might just give this one a go, and then I saw that "Live the life"-mode and suddenly I got turned off. I play NHL to play hockey games, not interact with media or other team mates, if I wanted to interact with other characters in the game I play the Sims. And since it will hamper improvements to your character if you choose not to participate in these antics you're practically forced to do it - which will in effect make me not want to buy NHL 14.

I can just imagine what it will look like.

"You have chosen to play as: Jeff Carter"

"It's a friday night and your team has just lost 5-0 and your poor performance on the ice was a big contributor to the defeat, what do you want to do next?"

A. Spend time with your bestest buddy Mike Richards and hit the town and possibly make out with some loose women (+250 Exp)
B. Crash a frat party and hit on college girls (+300 Exp)
C. Stay at home and act like a proper professional (+0 Exp)

No thank you

/end rant
