I think it's safe to say the tank is in the tank. What do we do looking forward, as there's little chance of an immediate impact player for the rebuild slipping to #10 range?

Need to trade up as high as possible to get one of Jones, Drouin, or MacKinnon. You gotta move Vanek, Miller, Ennis and Grigorenko? Go ahead, do it, bc you'd move any one of those guys for a chance at a guy lik Toews, Stamkos, Duchene, Hedman, or Tavares... Any one of them.

See how you know how important a top 3 pick is? See how you'd give up anything for it? The teams in the top 3 feel the same way.

Bingo. There is no way .... NO. WAY. The top 3 and probably even the top 5 are being traded away.

I would try and move up a spot or two to get Monahan or Lindholm. Its crazy to think a team will move out the the top 4.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Darcy dangle Vanek/Miller and the MIN first for a good package of roster players and NHL-ready blue chippers buried by depth.

Miller and 1st to Chicago for ???

It shouldn't stop you from trying. You never know, for our 1st, Minnesota's 1st, Ennis, Girgorenko, and maybe add Miller or Vanek if whoever it is wants it. I'm willing to give up just about everything we have for a shot at an elite player. That is what we need here. I think anybody in the organization should be up for grabs in order to get a top-3 pick.

A mid/late first, Ennis, Grigorenko, and one of Vanek or Miller to move up about 8 spots?

Step away from the ledge man.

Anybody I can probably get on board with, but everybody?

Crawford, McNeill, 1st for Miller is more realistic from a Chicago perspective.

1-for-1 swap of duties between Miller and Crawford is the only real difference for Chicago. McNeill isn't on the team yet. So they keep everyone on their roster aside from Crawofrd. For one year of Miller, essentially a one-year Cup run, that's acceptable for Chicago.

Work it the other way around. You've got a top three pick with Jones, Drouin, or MacKinnon locked in. Would you trade that pick?

I wouldn't. Buffalo would have to offer up an insane package of players and picks to make that type of trade work, far exceeding the normal value to that pick.

The best Buffalo's going to get is a small trade up for Monahan or Lindholm.

Sounds good to me. Another 1st and a pretty solid prospect is a nice return

because it becomes a way more realistic possibility if Chicago is eliminated from the playoffs early. hell, if they don't win the cup this year they will probably be hard-pressed to acquire a better starting goalie. the consensus is that this is chicago's year. if they don't win, the outcries for change may be overwhelming.

besides that, we know if miller is going to get traded he wants a legit shot to win a cup. looking at chicago's current roster, there isn't a single better team to go to right now.

goaltending hasn't been a point of contention for them this year. At any moment.

It was last postseason. Maybe it will be again. An utter implosion from Crawfery would be nice.

Truth.
