Great stuff, like it a lot.

If you're to do it all though, I suggest you save yourself some work and prepare a few "Old timers" frames so all you'll have to do is add the last frame with the current Habs player and the text.

Something around players from the last dynasty would be awesome, like two or three forwards (Lafleur, Shutt, Lemaire maybe), the big three on D (Lapointe, Savard, Robinson) and Dryden (maybe Roy even, considering who he is)

Yep, the 'Feels good' theme is also à propos for the habs this year.

Maybe another round of voting should be done, this time with samples in the OP. Man, we take this s**t seriously!

Yep, this would make it more ''unique''

4 panel or take out the playoffs one ?

Blou, on your patch(If you want), you could try to put a fading cup in the background on one side or a small one in the corner? Just a suggestion.

I wish I could shop, I have so many great ideas

Agree with this. The Bloumeister patch is old school, the Legends Feels Good is old school and they both look awesome.

I suggest that legends are chosen in the list of Habs retired numbers:

1 Jacques Plante G 1953-63 October 7, 1995
2 Doug Harvey D 1947-61 October 26, 1985
3 Emile Bouchard D 1941-56 December 4, 2009
4 Jean Beliveau C 1952-71 October 9, 1971
5 Bernie Geoffrion RW 1950-64 March 11, 2006
7 Howie Morenz C 1923-34 November 2, 1937
9 Maurice Richard RW 1943-60 October 6, 1960
10 Guy Lafleur RW 1971-85 February 16, 1985
12 Dickie Moore LW 1953-63 November 12, 2005
Yvan Cournoyer RW 1964-79 November 12, 2005
16 Henri Richard C 1955-75 December 10, 1975
Elmer Lach C 1940-54 December 4, 2009
18 Serge Savard D 1967-81 November 18, 2006
19 Larry Robinson D 1972-89 November 19, 2007
23 Bob Gainey LW 1974-89 February 23, 2008
29 Ken Dryden G 1970-79 January 29, 2007
33 Patrick Roy G 1985-95 November 22, 2008

(Didn't realize there was SIXTEEN players in that list )

Definitely think we need a re-vote with fewer options, take out a handful of these with no traction, and with examples in the first post, then we should be able to get more conclusion! But again, its the people making these and stepping up like Jee/Blou who should have most of the say IMO so if they don't like the winning idea its not even worth discussing as its just an idea without an artiste!

Yeah, replace the playoffs pane with the one Blou made.

However I feel like if we're to do that we need to "clean" up the "Feels good man" pane, just my opinion.

Agree with all of this.

I think the "Feels good man" theme is best suited. But it needs to be fixed up a bit, changing the fonts a bit.. maybe adding designing it a bit more. But the idea and the theme is brilliant.

Sold (as far as I'm concerned!). But I'd like to see what else can be done with the Blou's Tightly Knit theme. A TEAM concept inspired by how the habs play and that is reflected on the boards where posters would support (not flame at least) each other during the playoffs.

And most importantly we should wait to know what Jee is thinking about all that. As the board official avatar maker, he gets to choose whatever he wants to do IMHO. If he wants to to Dive for 25 than Dive it is and I'll help.

You mean use "the Feels good, man" font on the 1st pane, right? And can you give me a little more details on the clean up part. Thanks!

I'll just give my opinion but in no way am I concidered to have any sort of artistic creativity, so I'll just put out there and let you fine photoshop gentlemen (and ladies) decide amongst yourselves what you feel would work best. Keep in mind that I don't know how long any suggestion I might have will take to make either so it might just be too hard.

I'm thinking use the embroidered font used for "Playoffs" in Blou's sample for the first pane. As for the "Feels good man" pane, I really don't know how to explain it...

1st frame - playoffs intro (needs work)
2nd frame - FEELS GOOD MAN (all it needs is a bit of color, IMO; post one of the panels you already made and I'll try something)
3rd frame - pic of player + sentence/catchphrase/punchline

And we're good to go!

Gotta work now, will catch up tonight.

Figured I'd work on something that'll actually be unifying instead of divisive. Maybe it'll 'stitch' us all together? (pardon the cheap pun)

Ideas are welcome. No rush, right? Still 7 games to go...

GO HABS GO!

Just noticed this, would it be possible to remove the negative space from the habs logo, like the empty area around the H to see the background through the logo?

Like Jee said, it's part of the embroidering, but I don't think it's gonna show much at 125 X 125, so I'll try it both ways and see what flies.. tonight

("stole" it from this, BTW)

Not a jab at you personally, JLP, but aren't we taking all of this a bit too seriously? By 'we', I mean us Habs fans on this board, not the we you just used and many fans use when referring to the actual team. WE are not Canadiens de Montréal. WE don't have a record of 26 - 10 -5 this year. WE didn't get creamed by Toronto last night. Unless some posters here were actually on the ice at the ACC yesterday?

As the Chosen One/misbegotten child (yeah, ******* is censored) once said:

CHILL!!!

Given the unhealthy, borderline psychotic vibe on this board lately, an ironic/sarcastic/irreverent/classless/pathetic (duh) avatar might just be what the doctor ordered.

Don't agree? Well, you're in total denial then
Right turtleneck does set us up, had not thought of that. I dunno if I'm personally taking this too seriously like a lot of posters I use the plural pronoun "we" to identify with the Habs, and it's my first comment on playoff avatars in eight years. I've never used one before but thought this year I'd jump on the avatar bandwagon, so I'll have what you're having Blou, as long as there are no broons on it hehehe. The "tight-knit" idea sounds good, strongly support making an illustrated shortlist of say four or so designs we could vote on.

EDIT: FGM FTW

The legend panels in a larger format :

As for the panel order, depending on the order it "Feels Good Man" about this year playoffs (1-Playoffs panel, 2- FGM panel , 3-Catchphrase panel) or it "Feels Good Man" about whatever that or this avatar catchphrase is (1-Catchphrase panel, 2- FGM panel , 3-Playoffs panel). Am I getting this right?
