Jets jerseys at non-hockey sporting events, anyone do it?

Was watching the Jays-Royals game yesterday which was in Kansas City. Camera caught someone wearing a Jets jersey with a Kays hate and stayed on them for a few seconds. Whether its to show your idenity as a Winnipegger or another reason, how many people wear their Jets jersey outside of hockey game related activities?

Hard to say what some people will do, but for me no. That would be like me wearing my detroit lions jersey to a Jets game. Its just out of place and weird.

Never. And I don't wear them as everyday clothing either. Sports jerseys of just about any kind are not fashionable to me. I've worn a soccer jersey out with jeans on the odd occasion because they are more fitted, but only a few times....hockey and football jerseys don't hang right on your shoulders, make you look fat and/or shapeless, and the big sleeves get in the way of, or into your food. But that's just me, wear what you like.

I don't wear Jets jerseys anywhere ever unless it is game day.

Same goes for NFL Jerseys. Only on game day.

Hockey Jerseys fit best, and look best, overtop of equipment. It's for that reason that I think a Jets Jersey would go just fine over my motorcycle jacket. Padding underneath, Jersey overtop.

If you're proud of your city and proud of your team, go for it. Maybe buddy was just killing time of an evening in KC.

it makes as much sense as wearing a Jets jersey to a Habs/Leafs game. Just weird IMO

have seen people at Jets games wearing a jersey of some NHL team other than the 2 playing... kinda strange but to each their own, I guess... mind you, I often wear mine if I'm watching the game in my man cave by myself.... maybe that's weird, too

lol how is it weird?
just as weird as a jets tshirt and or hat

just because you attend an nhl game, mlb game, nfl game doesnt mean you are a fan of either team, these are huge events that draw people in from all over the world

ive worn jets stuff all over the place, been to vikes games, twins games, bomber games etc, wearing jets stuff
i wear my jets shirt to a bomber game all the time

its not weird at all, each time ive done it i have seem at least one other person(including vikes/twins games) wearing the same

jets fans are everywhere

I've seen a lot of people wear jets gear at Disney World last year. The ones I talked to were all from Winnipeg. It's what tourist do to represent their city/team.

Edit: misread the question. But similar I guess.

At a sporting event, depends how into it I am. I wouldn't wear Jets gear at a Bomber game, though a lot of people do. I probably don't care enough for a Goldeyes game. If I was out of town, I doubt I'd wear a jersey at a non hockey sporting event, but I might wear something Jets related just because I would have been wearing it anyways.

There was a guy at the recent Jets-Sabres game wearing a Blackhawks jersey

When I lived in Calgary I wore my Jets and Bombers jerseys to sporting events and bars.

Almost always had positive reactions from other fans.

Used to wear my old Jets 1.0 jersey to the odd Phoenix Roadrunner (IHL) game in the mid 90s. Kind of ironic, I guess...

Jets jersey to a baseball game? Yeah, I find that pretty weird. I also find it peculiar when I go to Bomber games and I catch people wearing NFL jerseys.

Here's a question though - would it be weird to wear a Thrashers jersey to a Jets game?

I wore some Jets gear in Brazil when I was there a couple weeks ago.

Nobody recognized it.

Customs guy in Miami did though on the way back.

actually, you're kind of on the right path.

would you wear a Disney World shirt to a Jets game? how about a band shirt to a Jets game?

Guy in front of me was wearing a Thrashers jersey at the Buffalo game last week. I thought it was pretty cool.

Not really the same but my tip to any Jets fans traveling is to wear a Jets item (hat, toque, etc.) - I did that recently in NYC and kept running in to other Winnipegers. The added bonus was I received a great tip on a place to check out (tenement museum) and it was one of the highlights of the trip.

As for wearing a Jersey, I'd only do it while watching the game, regardless of where I'm watching it and only if that team is playing.
