If he was smart he wouldn't sign with the Oilers. He will not be in their top six almost guaranteed both now and in the long term due to their crazy talent depth up front. The habs while having skilled players also have old players that will be gone soon like Gionta, Ryder, and to a lesser extent Plekanec. He will get to learn from these players while being sheltered and groomed but on the oilers he will play with guys like Horcoff and Smyth while they get destroyed every night.

When you've got that much money, there are always ways around taxes. Not all of them, of course, but a lot.

Does anyone know exactly why. Nygren didn't come over? His tweets weren't clear on the matter.

From what I gather it wasnt worth the insurance hassle to get him over for such a short amount of time this year.

Bergevin is an aggressive GM and I can't wait for Laganiere to sign with the Habs. He's exactly the type of player the Habs need playing forward, creating room for scoring plays and keeping the opponent's from taking cheap shots at smaller teammates.

I don't get how it's any different from Colberg.

My question is why the confusion and who was to blame? The Habs or his agent? They better not screw up with this guy!

Especially in Vancouver, man regular houses cost more than half a million dollar over there. I can't imagine how much are worth the big houses that the nucks' players live in.

You get great endorsement deals anywhere in Canada. If you're French Canadian and resemble something of a star, you'll get an endorsement deal in Quebec.

Interesting prospect. Would be nice if he signed with the Habs especially since it's just money and no pick is wasted. Hopefully the rumor isin't true.

Anymore NCAA goalies worth a shot to pick up for depth?

Did you click on their link for the source ? Says Vancouver is looking at him.

I believe he's one of the more sought after NCAA UFAs this year, so it will be another day, or 2 before he signs.

Laganiere is just what the Dr. ordered,he's a player with skills, passing, skating, shooting and goes to the net.Plus he's 22yrs.old, free agent and he was born in Quebec,he can play all forward positions and can play physical hockey when the need arises. Please sign with the Habs, you will never regret signing with the Habs, who knows you could be the next Hall of Fame player from the Habs in 15-20 yrs.

Hopefully.

Would be a really nice addition to our prospect pool unfortunately he wouldn't really be able to play. Unless the last game of the season doesn't change where we finish then he might get a game.

2. With Hartzell signed, a couple of Yalies take centre stage: forwards Antoine Laganiere and Andrew Miller. Glenn Healy mentioned Vancouver, Winnipeg, Columbus, Pittsburgh and Nashville. The Predators have seen almost every game, apparently. Don't know as much about Miller, except that Washington is among the chasers.

Andrew Miller either set up Yale's most important goals or scored them during the Frozen Four Tournament and he's a senior that's unsigned. He would make another great signing.

If he is a legit NHL prospect and you can sign him you can always develop and trade him.

Any player with intensity and his ability would be a great addition in Hamilton, then it's all up to them. That's what PTO's are for,I'm sure they have seen the Frozen Four Tournament and know about Miller already, everyone in the States do.

Funny how Roy was buttering him up before the draft and now he can't stand him...

Jérôme Bérubé ‏@Jerome_Berube 41s If Grigorenko is back in the QMJHL next season he won't play for Quebec say Patrick Roy http://www.radio-canada.ca/regions/q...igorenko.shtml
