Last year there was a vote, and the winner was announced at the NHL awards.

My main issues I hope they fix is the protect puck button, and how if you get checked in the back, you are guaranteed to go flying regardless of how hard it is.

Seriously, the "A" button should be the most pressed button in the game. It would slow the game down to a more realistic speed, and get players leaning on each other rather than deking like in real life.

You lose so much speed when you press it as well. You should be able to glide without losing all youre speed instantly.

Also, the puck should be more "live." Im talking about more bounces, players bobbling the puck more, the puk bouncing over players sticks, more deflections, etc.

Board play is also a huge part of hockey, and its pathetic in EA games. Theres only one animation, and you basically know whos coming out with the puck. More than 2 players should be able to tie up, and some players should stand behind the scrum and poke check or anticipate whos going to win the battle.

They tried this with NHL13, and it was frustrating as can be. Yes, it's more realistic, but when you hit a guy like Malkin for a breakaway only to have him lose the puck on a perfect pass, it's rage worthy. I agree they could make it a little more live, especially when players are attempting dekes and passes through the slot, but I don't want it as extreme as they tried in the demo for 13.

The new incarnation of the Be a Pro Career Mode, now you can truly Live the Life of an NHL player. On or off the ice, every decision you make shapes your legacy as an athlete. Interact with teammates outside of the rink. Take part in media interviews. Each choice you make will affect your relationship with fans, teammates and management, influencing your skills and progression.
YES! Finally!

The fighting thing is pretty miniscule in the grand scheme of things but it is so needed. I didn't mind fighting but it irked me so much that everyone on the ice just disappeared.

Seems like scrums are being put into the game as well, that's needed as well. No more of this awkward hitting after the whistle.

REALLY looking forward to Live the Life mode. If they allow my player to be a team player, but has Tortorella-like interviews, I'm buying it without a doubt.

Also, please include NHL '94 playable on the disc like you did with NHL 06. After all, it is the 20th anniversary

It was on the PS2 version only. Had teams like the Whalers, Nordiques, and pre-2011-12 Jets, but not the original rosters.

It's about time they came around with the BAP. They were so behind the NBA series it isn't even funny. Interacting with teammates isn't even in NBA, so that should be neat. The media interviews should be cool. NHL isn't such a press conference sport so I take it they'll be between periods?

THANK THE LORD they took out first person fighting. God that was stupid.

Will buy.

Oh nevermind then. I had it for Gamecube...

Also the new BAP might make me buy two NHL's in a row for the first time ever..

Completely missed the "Live the Life" bit in the features blog, wow that should be awesome. I hope they do something similar with BAGM (see: franchise mode NHL 06, finances, emails from management, newspapers after trades, extra info like goalies "weak spots", fan happiness, attendance, etc.) I think they could really do some amazing things with BAGM but they just seem to not want to put the effort in.

Oh well, I'll still buy it. It's like a moral contract these days.

If they don't fix Be a GM's potential system, add more features to Be a GM, or don't improve the AI, I'm not buying this game.

That is just a scrum, only one fight can happen at the same time. Other players will tie up opponents though, just like what happens in nasty scrums in real life.
