Man oh man, looking at that schedule, we really have a excellent chance for a top three pick and thus a player that can join right away and make a solid impact...granted top 6 is not shabby but to get a drouin or jones or mackinnon....

With that in hand, our absence from the playoffs will again be a short one....

Yeah, that one player is definitely going to make ALL the difference.

The Flyers had their own tank once, Andrei "the Tank" Kovalenko played 13 games for the fly guys in '99.

Combine it with all our other young talent, yes, it will make a great difference...remember, their is tremendous parity in the NHL....last week we took out the Habs and Leafs back to back...we have beaten Boston and the Rangers this year....we are not far from the mark...every team has points of weakness.

If we get a top three pick this year, we will be back battling next year for a playoff spot....and you can be sure this off season other pertinent changes will be coming!

Remember, less then 12 months ago, we took apart supposedly the best team in the NHL...not much has changed in our team since then.....we can get there again and quickly.

Man if we could get a top 3 pick and add a top young Dman without subtracting any pieces I'd be estatic.

So when do you think Jones #3 jerseys will hit stores? I'm thinking July 1st?

I think Colorado will practically announce the pick as soon as they win the lottery.

We seem so close to a top 3 pick, yet so far away..

Nashville scares me as a dark horse to sneak into the top 3..

If only we would have lost at least 2 of the games we had during that 4 game win streak

Yikes, bad tanking tonight...that might have cost us a top three pick...granted its always fun to beat the Habs but I am not happy about the larger picture....of course, someone in the top 6 isn't too bad either....

Lose to Montreal? No tanks!

Well, it was probably inevitable that they'd win a couple more games, might as well kick the Habs while they are down.

New Jersey is playing their tank system to perfection, though. I will be ticked if they sink below us and pick the guy we want.

With Huskins and Gervais injured that makes our D:

Lauridsen-Schenn
Timonen-Foster
Gustafsson-?? Lilja?

IR:
Pronger-Meszaros
Grossmann-Coburn
Huskins-Gervais

I'm not sure there are that many more wins with what's left on D. In fact, I think they need to rest Timonen for a few games too, he's awful beat up....

If we lose out, I think we'll finish 5th, after FLA, COL, CGY, and NSH.

But one or two more wins could be pretty bad--conceivably dropping us to 9th (FLA, COL, CGY, NSH, CAR, TB, EDM, NJD)

I hope not!

And they should just sit Timonen a couple games because he's gonna be forced to play a ton with that D.

With our d core now, I wouldn't be too worried about finishing 9th...

Montreal lost that game last night more than we won. Our forwards, namely the giroux line, played a hell of a game and essentially kept the play in their end all night.

The rangers are likely watching tape of it right now

I still see us finishing 4th-6th
