Nice outburst and win but Montreal didn't exactly play a tight checking game....something the Flyers don't do well against.

Tomorrow should be interesting....hopefully Mason can do well since I will be attending the game. Haven't seen a loss yet so maybe a 2 game winning streak....no "tanks" though

The Habs have no balls. No juevos, eggs, cojones, whatever word for male genitalia that won't get censored out.

3 Plusses:
1) Giroux in BEAST mode. 32 points in 25 games of late.
2) Hartnell remembering where the net is. That hat-trick has been a long time coming.
3) Secondary scoring, about time another line chipped in.

3 Minuses:
1) That terrible first goal on Bryz. I can't understand why he didn't get it.
2) Lauridsen having an all-time bad game. 2 penalties leading to goals and poor coverage allowing another.
3) 2 points further away from Jones.

A second set of eyes needed:

is the official box recorded as Flyers' 2-for-11 on PPs and Montreal as 2-for-3?

Okaaaay! What the crapping crap was that? A little miss-the-playoffs celebration?

I saw Gustafsson give Eller a little stick tap while they both were going to their respective benches, and Eller spun with a pretty good two-hander. Good on Foster to knock Eller on his back.

I'm pretty sure I was at that game. That was a beauty to be in attendance for.

Missed the game glad to hear G played well. I think it would be so amazing if we got jones with just 0.5% of getting him

The French word is 'couilles'. I hope that is helpful.

The Habs are going to fall behind Boston and Toronto and end up opening in Toronto. The smurfs are going out early.

It looks to me like 2-6 for each team, with the Flyers being on the PP for 8:19 and the Canadiens for 10:47.

What I don't understand is that White got 5 for fighting and a match penalty, but there is no initial penalty for the elbow/charge/etc. On the same play, Foster took a 5 for fighting, 2 for instigating, 2 for instigating with a shield and a 10-min misconduct, meaning the Flyers were on 4 min of PK after having their player knocked out with a cheap shot.

EDIT: But this doesn't correspond with the penalties. Flyers were on the PK 5 times in the 1st, both teams got 2 PPs in the 2nd, and there were 3 Flyer PPs and 1 Canadiens PP in the 3rd; however, 2 Flyers (Foster and Rosehill) took double minors, so I guess that counts as 2 penalties. By my count (and counting the aforementioned two double-minors as a single PP each), it should have been 7 Canadiens PPs and 5 Flyer PPs.

Eller also took a 5 and a game at the 20-minute mark of the 3rd for his two-handed swing.

It was recently fixed. There were comments on Twitter regarding errors in the official box including time played for some players. I didn't think 2-for-11 was accurate.

My guess is the box with undergo more adjustments.

This is how Renaud Lavoie had it:
Quote:
Ryan White: 5 for hit to the head + 5 for fighting + game misconduct.
The official box has a 5 + 10 for White which I believe to be an error.

I'm sure some posters will give you some conspiracy theories but its been like this all year. The refs have been horrible regardless of what teams are playing this year.

The Flyers website still has the 1st goal credited to Simmonds. I thought Couts got a stick on it. Maybe it hit a Canadiens stick instead?

To me it looked like it hit off a Montreal player and bounced in.

Understood, but the head-scratcher is that White would have received a match penalty unassociated with an actual infraction.

EDIT: And I think the Shanahan call will be a conference call for White and Eller. Eller has a clean record and probably will only get some angry words and maybe a fine. White I can see being gone for at least 5.

NHL has requested in-person disciplinary hearing for MTL's Ryan White after his hit to head of PHI's Kent Huskins. Hearing date TBD.

Agreed. White's getting min 5 games for that. That was one of the worst cheapshot elbow to the chin this year.

Eller is just a big freakin' sucky baby. Rivals only Eric Staal for the "Why do I always look like I'm about to cry" look.

What the hell? We aren't supposed to win!

Still, I can't say I didn't enjoy watching us destroy the Habs.

We'll win the lottery no matter where we finish, so I'm good.

I've rarely seen a player get away with as many little infractions in a game as Subban, he's a good player. I saw a couple of times that he'd grab the stick of a forward or do something that wasn't entirely legal, chippy stuff. Before anyone thinks I'm criticising him I think it's a skill to know just how much you can push it, Pronger used to be able to do that sort of stuff and get away with it too, Subban seems to know how to toe that line effectively.
