I dunno, they weren't exactly tied up yet. Looked more like he didn't want to go through another exchange of punches.

What's been going on with Thornton? He seems to have declined a bit. One of my favorite fighters in the league and I wouldn't have minded him pounding on the plug Westgarth.

Westgarth got the first hit in with a decent jab. Thornton then got the better of it by a little. Thornton did call the ref in after he gassed out. Thornton gets the nod but not a devastating beatdown or anything.
