I think its now or never, if he signs with Ak-Bars it will probably be multi-year.
Hes been to New York a few times to training camp and seemed to show interest in playing there.

I think he should go on a 1 or 2 year contract. If it doesnt work out, Ak-Bars will still probably sign him to a similar muti-year deal as now.

Lets face it Morozov and co are on their decline now, and frankly nobody is going to pay them what Ak-Bars was paying them. Morozov was making alot. They will definitely be taking pay cuts, KHL or not. Unless maybe SKA, CSKA, decide to be big spenders, which I dont really see happening; even if Metallurg picks them up it will be much less than they were getting in their prime with Ak-Bars.

Morozov could give the NHL a shot... maybe pull a Jagr(younger tho obviously)
Im sure lots of NHL teams would give them one-way one year contracts. Would be fun.

Metmag right on the money, Morozov has slowed down tremendously. He's good on the PP, but thats about it. Just doesn't have the wheels any more.

Has anybody mentioned yet that Afinogenov was bought out by SKA? I hope he isn't washed up, maybe he will bounce back next year with some lesser team.

Morozov could sign a deal with a team starving for scoring or playoff team looking for depth, it would be fun. Tereshchenko would still be a solid player if he's willing to play for what the checkers are being paid in the NHL but Zaripov wouldn't survive the NHL at all, he would be ineffective.

Morozov had several years of success with the Pittsburgh Penguins in the late 90's and early 2000's, so he doesn't have anything left to prove as far as the NHL goes.

Yeah that would be awesome if he could play for a Novokuznetsk or Khanbarovsk type team, even cooler than the NHL. But unfortunately those teams wouldn't be able to afford him. I guess Atlant could be an option.

Yakushev72:

I didnt say anything about proving anything.

I may have misunderstood the context of what you said. I agree that it would be great if he ended up in Novokuznetsk or Khabarovsk and helped to fuel the growth of hockey in those regions.

Traktor interested in Ville Nieminen who's had his best season in SM-Liiga at 36 years of age. Dependent on whether J-M Aaltonen will play for Traktor and also if Nieminen is willing to leave Tampere for one more season (willing to stay at home for family reasons). Source: paper version of Veikkaaja sports magazine.

The player market in Europe is so dry that the KHL teams are trying to get washed up has-beens such as Ville Nieminen. Nieminen was terrible in his last stint in the KHL. And now he is two years older and slower.

You clearly haven't seen him play this season. Playing the best hockey of his life right now.

That is funny, becasue Farjestad turned down 390 000 USD but has no problem with NHL transfer fee (225 000 USD??). And yes, younger and better guys go to NHL.

Proper linemates and role and he'll put up points. I still doubt he'll leave his family behind again and leave Tampere though.

I liked Nieminen when he played for Sibir. He was good despite rather frequent stupid penalties

Vityaz will be allowed to move to Podolsk.

Moscow Region government has permitted Vityaz to move to Podolsk.

The reason is changes in the KHL regulations. According to the new rules the clubs playing at 5500-seats and smaller arenas must present projects of a new stadium or reconstruction of the old one. The arena in Chekhov is of 3300 seats, but the stadium in Podolsk seats 5500 spectators, what meets the requirements.

Vityaz President Mikhail Golovkov commented on the decision: 'The region greenlit the Vityaz's removal to Podolsk. We're assessing the situation and working on it.

The removal is possible, but I cannot say surely whether we will play there. What are the chances? More likely yes. We have no equivalent alternatives.'
