If that is indeed the case and if it is a significant signing it'll most likely be Ryan Moore. Others perhaps not necessarily as significant would be Dan Miller or Mathew Hudie. Miller would be a great add.

Beggars can't be choosers Otto. If it is a 97..the 2 best 97 draftees are signed to NDPT While Miller and Hudie are not really significant. If you think of it Moore is significant in that WR has lost out on a number of US flyers lately.

I dont think this has anything to do with players, more of a business standpoint

Hudie is a 1996 I believe.

And while you're right, I think making a big deal of a Moore signing would be for show as WR had to have had a firm commitment from the kid before drafting him. Now if it was a regular introducing our top pick presser fine, but don't make a big secret out of it.

One piece of news not mentioned Matt Moran is a new scout for the Spits he's out in Philadelphia, I presume replacing Smith?

Ryan Moore

Windsor #Spitfires have signed top pick Ryan (@rymoore1997) Moore to a standard #OHL playing contract. Opts for #CHL over #USHL and #NCAA
According to Jim Parker

Nice that they signed him but I am not sure a press conference was needed but this is the way it goes now unfortunately.

How good is this signing Rayzor? Can you compare him to anyone currently playing?

Windsor has always done press conferences for top picks; Watson and Campbell come to mind, immediately. I like the whole idea as it gives people a chance to meet the kid and talk to him before he has to focus on the season.

Not really all that big of news as we knew he would sign anyway... the whole "he may not report" and "he would have been a mid 1st rounder" was simply a way to create some hype around him to attempt to lessen the fact we didn't have a 1st rounder.

Not going to get pulled into the Webermin/Maletta false hype this time round.

Not going to judge till I see him play.

If he was 5'10/'11 min. I might be more excited.

I agree with this. When Tigers mentions that he was coached by former Windsor Spitfire scout now Rob Smith, his advisors include Ian Pulver who has a very good relationship with Windsor it's not hard to connect the dots.

He likes to pattern his game after Parise and Kane but it's hard to pin point a guy because Moore is 5'8 and does play with edge. Of course playing with edge against players your same age is different than doing it against 18 and 19 year olds. It will be interesting to see how his game transfers to the OHL.

Nice. He may add to his stature, and even if he doesn't the Ruperts play with an edge and they are only 5'9. Could turn out to be a good addition, congrats to the organization!

I agree not going to judge,it appears reading other people"s takes who have seen
this player that he has alot of upside, can certainly use forwards thats for sure
hopefully he pans out
On another note would not surprise me if the Spits sign Evan Allen just prior to NHL draft much like they did with Seiloff last year, dont see other American born players
signing though, especially Barber,Butcher and probably Schmaltz
I would hope that Baughman and Dodero show up at rookie camp May31,Baughman
has intriguing size but did not play anywhere last yr of consequence which I think
concerns Windsor, while Dodero is small, and I know numbers are not everything did
not put up good numbers in his rookie yr with Chicago of the USHL but he does
have the bloodlines seeing as his brother just graduated from the Wolves
Time will tell on these things

I'm guessing that IF the Spits were to be awarded the Memorial cup it would make a big difference to a couple of those named but I fear the chances of that happening are probably slim and none.

Legend I think there needs to be an emphasis on getting some bigger forwards that can play. You can clear out Bowen and Bilcke and if you watch the conference finals there will be some good size on display Wilson, Noesen, Payne, Uvira, Mistele, Horvat, Anderson, Elie, Brassard, Graovac, Zharkov, Sandlak, Camara, Schiefele, Theoret. I would include Athanasiou who's 6'2 but that's not his type of game. You really need another couple of forwards to go with Giftopolous. Not sure how they are acquired but after the import draft it needs to be addressed. I don't think Allen, Moore, Ho-Sang could hold up.
