The difference is during that time the Vezina was based on team goaltending, so he shared it. Now you have the Jennings trophy. His stats weren't bad for that time period with a sub 3.00 GAA and a .896 SV %, of course he also had his 20 minutes of PIMs from channeling his inner Billy Smith. Sorry OT, but it is nice to see him come in and play well albeit in a limited role. Seems like a smart player that prefers to make the right play instead of forcing things, very composed and will be a good player if he can maintain this.

Actually they changed to the modern Vezina Trophy a couple of years before Barrasso won it.

Yep, you're right, it changed after the 81-82 season, my fault for not verifying dates as I remembered Edwards and Sauve winning it that way a few years before Barrasso.
