Even if the Sixers suck, they'll draft another Evan Turner.

Well Collins had enough and is resigning and might move to the FO.

I'm assuming Curry is a candidate. And I can see them reaching out to Mike Brown, Avery Johnson and Brian Shaw too.

I'd really like to get Shaw.

Looks like they're going to finish in 9th place too. The worst spot to be in the NBA.

Seems like they've been mid pack since they drafted Iguodala.

Young, holiday, harkless, vucevic, Moultrie, speights all were mid 1st round picks.

Mediocrity reigns.

Doug Collins last game coaching the sixers, thank god.

This franchise is terrible, it's actually kind of embarassing at this point.

Doug Collins was far from the reason this franchise sucks. Hopefully they get a crappy coach for next year and tank for real.

Doug was the reason we have Kwame Brown and Nick young. Doug is the reason why Vucevic is in Orlando having a career year (in only his second season). Doug is the one who can't develop young talent (which is essential) when you are stuck in mediocrity.

Doug was definately a part of the reason this franchise is where it is now. Maybe not a lot but he contributed for sure.

Doug doesn't like doo-doo Sorry, I had to, lol.

I wasn't aware Doug Collins is the GM. If he liked Kwame Brown and Nick Young so much than why has Brown not played since Christmas and Young been a DNP-CD most of the games since he came back from injury?

Did Doug also give Kwame a 2nd year player option?

Collins got a team of role players to the playoffs 2 years and a row. And got them to game 7 of the East Semis last year (Yes I'm aware they only beat CHI cause Rose was hurt.)

Not playing Vucevic much as a rookie is not the reason he was traded. He was traded because he was a piece to get Bynum.

I hope your happy when they hire Eddie Jordan part 2.

If you read about the sixers, you would know Doug facilitated all the moves in the off-season. He was essentially the GM. So yes, he did.

He doesn't play them because they suck. He was the talent evaluator, why do you think Tony DiLeo is the GM? It was rumored the Sixers were looking at assistant Gm's from franchises like the Thunder or the Spurs. None of them wanted to come because Doug wanted to have the final say in what players would be on the team

I don't care who the coach is... they are gonna have to tank and be horrible before they become a team to reckon with. That is how the NBA works, otherwise they'll be stuck in mediocrity. And we have seen enough of that since Brown left.

This team is a complete mess, front office to the roster. The win tonight (which dropped us in the draft even lower) is the final dagger in the worst season I can remember for a Philly sports team.

They have to tank next year. The draft is the best in 10 years. But they wont.

This team.........................

I read on a sixers forum that they don't have their 2014 1st round pick. Hope they're wrong..

Not terrible enough. Snider never wanted to do what it takes in the NBA to get franchise players. Hopefully the current ownership will bite the bullet.

Yeah this team needs to get a couple top 5 picks to get some talented young players.

Just look at Seattle/OKC did.

2007 2nd Overall pick: Kevin Durant
2008 4th Overall pick: Russell Westbrook
2009 3rd Overall pick: James Harden

I realize they don't have Harden anymore but after getting 3 straight top 5 picks they're now finishing around the top of the West and they show no signs of slowing down.

EDIT: I just remembered the Sixers drafted Evan Turner 2nd overall. So if they get any top 5 picks in the future hopefully they pick the right player. Evan can be a good player but I think he's rather inconsistent.

Yeah, Evan Turner isn't gonna be a superstar, let alone an all-star. The one year we get the 2nd overall pick is one of the weakest drafts for the NBA.

In OKC's case it also takes a little luck with how deep a draft is and good scouting/talent evalution.

I'm not sure what they'll do with the coach. Watch it be Curry. However, I do like the signing of the new GM. He has a different philosophy than what the past sixer GMs have had.

I almost don't care who the new coach is. The team is probably going to be really bad for 2-3 years or longer, no matter who they hire. I just hope it's somebody who will encourage Jrue and Thad to be more efficient scorers (aka get to the free throw line) and I think that it will be.

I'm glad to see the direction ownership is going in. The GM hiring was really the key moreso than the coach, I think. And I like the move to get their own D-League team.

Just hope that sixers management knows what they're doing. Just watched Andrew Wiggins mixtape, he would be an absolute beast and star player the sixers could draft in 2014.

Sixers just have to tank... even if they don't get the #1 pick next draft there are 5-6 project superstars to come out of next years draft.

Needless to say, we unfortunately still have a long way to go.

How long are the picks protected for? Because they owe Miami and Orlando 1sts.

Knowing the Sixers luck they'll win the lottery when the picks stop being protected.
