Leggy had it on Thursday and I didn't notice who had it yesterday but my vote would be Klein. He's no longer the whipping boy on the boards and after taking one off the coconut and still hanging tough Thursday night you gotta give it up for him.

Agree with Leggy or Klein.

Horny does deserve it because he puts 110% into every shift, but I wouldn't want to burden him with a letter...he's constantly agitating and **** talking out there, and sometimes that includes yelling at the officials (I LOL'ed so hard a few games ago when he raised his arm as if to call a penalty himself and then clapped when the officials finally called it). If he had a letter he'd have to act more professional and restrained, and I don't want that for him.

He earned it with his legendary backchecking effort yesterday. There likely would've been a riot in the locker room if he didn't get it...

Well, maybe not you, but Trotz... yes He actually played with some fire last night, and the A suited him well.

Last night at this stage in the season there was no reason not to give Gill the letter. My reply was in reference to putting the letter on him permanently next season. Gill is not a top candidate for a permanent letter...

I would say whomever displays leadership both on the ice and in the lockerroom. We can only see one of those places, so it's probably best that us fans aren't the ones making the call.

That said, my thought would be (assuming Weber stays C and Fisher A) one of Legwand, Klein, or Hornqvist. It might not be a bad idea to have a European represented (like Erat was) since we have a number of Europeans playing for us. Hornqvist would seem to be a good choice to me.

Not Legwand, because we all know he is the worst player in the history of the NHL.

I understand, but unless you work for the team and have some inside information, I suggest you're incorrect and your last sentence purely an opinion of an outside observer, and personally, I would not be surprised to see Gill (if back next season) wearing an A.

well, not trying to start anything, just putting in my $0.02(US), but Slake usually has pretty good info.....

and in my own, completely un-insider connected opinion, I think they will take the opportunity to recognize a rising young leader like Hornqvist or Klein rather than putting a letter on a guy who has zero chance of being with the team after next season

Gill is viewed as a mentor and leader with or without a letter sewn to his jersey.

This. It doesn't matter what his "official" position is with the team. His reputation and experience speak for themselves, and anyone, including Shea Weber, would be wise to listen when he has something to say.

But Gill strikes me as a guy who isn't seeking a leadership role, but rather will contribute when and where he can.

Gill isn't going to play 82 games even if he was healthy all season, so no "A" for him. I like Hornqvist if he wants it.
