I'm glad he didn't go to Vancouver.

Many Canucks fans were already penciling him into their lineup.

I think he'll be a really good 3rd liner.

Noticing that Vancouver is always 'in it', even if they're not. That turns a non-story into a story for all hockey-mad Canadian markets.

With Koivu and Selanne becoming UFA and their future with Anaheim is up in the air, it's easy to see why Laganiere saw an opportunity with that team.

Since he grew up a Habs fan, wouldn't shock me if he went there for a chance to play with Saku.

So the Canucks, Pens, and Oilers scout him for years and he picks a random team like the Ducks? Sigh.. Must have been promised a role in their top 6 or something.

They're not really comparable at all.

One was a surefire top prospect and one is a project that probably ends up being a depth player.

Anaheim doesn't really have a spot to promise him in the top six.

My guess is on the 2nd line.

Ana was rumoured to be looking for a 2nd line centre at the deadline.

Maybe they convinced it could be his if he proves himself.

Exactly what it says. It's an off the board team no one was talking about him signing with.

The only ones I saw said that Vancouver had the most interest.

I would of thought signing Getzlaf and Perry this season people would take us seriously. Anaheim has a lot of good things going at the moment. Good weather, awesome coach, and three top tier players. Good place to start off your career in my opinion.

That he was offered free coffee for a year, courtesy of one Sami Vatanen. One can't say "no" to such a deal.

It isn't that decision doesn't make sense; Anaheim will be as good a fit as any for him I'm sure. Anaheim just wasn't mentioned much, if at all, by the media.

Good pickup for the Ducks however.

Because that's such an outrage. The nerve of those people, entertaining the idea of having a free agent prospect in their lineup. On an online forum no less!!
