Maybe there will be a dead cat bounce thanks to the management changes to help Minnesota continue their slide to 9th.

Or maybe Matt Cullen will finally reveal that he is in fact Jason Arnason's long lost brother after scoring 8 goals.

There is no easier way to get under a Wild fan's skin than to call the team "Minny" and mention the trap.

Which is funny... Because every team in the NHL does it.
They thought calling us Eddy was cute lol

It's like the fat kid that gets mad at one kid for calling him fat, when the entire class is doing it.

Anyone know which goalie the Wild are starting?

Backstrom played last night.

Unless he's injured, Backstrom will start every game for the rest of the season/playoffs.

Love the Hall-Gagner-Yakupov line. Not sure how they will click with just being thrown together though.
PRV-RNH-Eberle would have to be the softest line in the league.

Regardless, I've got to coach soccer tonight, so won't get to watch which players actually want to play here after this season.

I've actually liked following the wild the past 4 seasons and have had no complaints about the way they've played hockey

Hoping they can finally grab a playoff spot and have a chance at making a run but I wouldn't mind seeing Hall destroy another one of their players while lighting them up tonight. I really like that T.Hall is becoming one of the more hated guys in the league, I hope he keeps it up while limiting the dirty cheap shots

But does continously trying to insult the coyotes and wild really make us feel better?

The only solace I can take is that this is our last game against Minny before the division change. Thank whatever God there is for that.

Tired of their boring, trap ********. I'd rather stick my meat in a grinder than watch their ****.

It's not even necessarily the trap though, in the Lemaire sense. I agree with that.

But certainly given the size and speed of players, and the advanced system play and video review that most teams use now, it's become easier to neutralize skill and protect a lead.

I agree with s7ark that overall, at least in the West, the NHL has become a fairly boring game.

Growing up, Minny was my nickname for the Vikings. The hockey team was always the North Stars.

BTW, North Stars jersey and logo >>>>> Wild jersey and logo.

Oilers lose 5-1 and Taylor Hall gets pissed and breaks another bone in Brodin and gets suspended for the rest of the year.

If Mact is really meddling with the on-ice priorities, I can already see the discussion about the powerplay

Mact - so the PP has been struggling, so this is what I want you to do. Send out Hemsky, your 2 best shooters, Horcoff, and Smyth. Pass it around the outside a bit, or just let Hemsky hold onto it for a while since he loves to do that and no one will bother him since they know he won't shoot. You do this until Smyth can get to the front of the net, it might take a while since he's kind of old now, but don't do anything until he's there.

Kreuger - then what?

Mact - then you shoot the puck at the net and let Smyth tip the puck, but don't let anyone else tip it, only Smyth is allowed to

Kreuger - what if they block the shooting lanes?

Mact - Well, in that case, you can let Hemsky attempt a long cross ice pass to Horcoff. Horc might fumble it 4 or 5 times, but if you keep trying, he'll get it eventually.

Kreuger - And you think this will help the inconsistencies of our top 10 ranked powerplay?

Mact - hah, no. It's terrible and will likely result in dropping your powerplay to the bottom 10 in short order, I thought I'd just inform you about the right way to run a powerplay in Edmonton.

Kreuger - ...

Man, they're talking about us in their GDT more than about their team.

I hope Hall breaks some clavicles and bruises some thighs tonight in an effort to break through the mighty Minny trap.

Can't wait til these trappers are out of the division next season. I can't remember one against Minny since they came into the league that was exciting.

I am getting annoyed with Wild fans coming in here to disparage the Oilers and their fans. A warning to Wild fans that further attempts to do this will result in infractions.

You have your own GDT. Go talk about the game there.

For all members of HFOil, I would recommend not posting in their GDT either.

Evgeni Nabokov has four assists this season.

Edit: woops, thought this was the OOT thread.
