i'm actually a fan of Hall. he plays hard and edgy. would like him more if he occasionally fought or whatever for some of his shenanigans but he's physical, skilled, and plays with an attitude.

edit: this opinion does not prevent me from also hoping someone drops him tonight.

Duane will lead us to victory!

Any chance the Oilers fan realize that like Taylor Swift...

Maybe they're the problem?

No that was last season. Seemed like half the Wild were Aeros with all the injuries. I just want them to stay in Houston because I live here and it's the only real life hockey I get.

So, I really hope we won't hear "Don't stop the party" tonight.

Because it'd be bad. You know why.

I agree with the bolded, but would also add that Hall is one of the dumbest hockey players that I can remember. He plays like he has no idea whats going to happen next.

i disagree...i won't attribute a high hockey IQ to him as one of his features but I think the general disorganization of that team and the fact that he's often the most noticeable player (for the positive reasons i mentioned) blow it out of proportion. I see him as a crash and react kind of guy not a ice-reading sniper/playmaker but I think he's just playing to his strengths. I think some of the mistakes he makes (bad hits and plays on the ice both) are a result of him trying to do too much by himself, picking up the tons of slack his teammates are leaving lay around. I'd take him on the Wild over any of the other guys.

It really was nice having five or six guaranteed wins for the past handful of years.

Oilers fan coming in peace.

Good luck guys. I hope my team comes out with any sort of motivation after what's happened over the last few days but if we play anything like how we have for the last while you guys will be getting an easy 2 points.

Let's hope for an entertaining game nonetheless.

Meh, I guess it could be a chicken/egg thing. Is it the lack of a system or lack of players that are capable of playing it. My opinion of Hall is probably influenced by watching "oil change" for years. I have shoes that are smarter than that kid.

Eh, I'd rather have a 2-1 win with little action to speak of

Seriously though, not going to jinx it with saying who's taking this one. Even though the Wild have a great record against Eddy, I'm thinking this one might get interesting.

Thanks. I hope for fans of the Oilers like you things get better in the future for your franchise. Oh and love the avatar picture, Archer is hillarious.

well he does have a "derp" way about him. Brent Burns was the same way. sort of the "live by the sword, die by the sword" kind of player. He's not a responsible hockey player, but over the course of a year he's going to do a lot more good than harm IMO. Especially if he's paired up with a smarter guy. Hope Coyle will play as physically as Hall does once he's completely comfortable in his role.

I'm so sick of the smug, "we're better than you because we won some Cups 30 years ago" , "everyone sucks, we are just young and on the rise" attitude; of Nearly all the Oilers fans. I would like to see a 7-0 rout, with Hall getting a match penalty for swinging at Clutterbuck, missing and hitting the ref.

I don't mind Eberle nor RNH, but I no longer like Hall, and I used to be a big fan since his OHL days.

All of this is quite humorous because for years most Oilers fans over there and on the main boards have with their smugness and unjustified superiority complex about the Wild have made the Wild-Oilers fans relationship on here toxic.

They hate their own team because their management sucks, yet they would rather rip on any other team than their own. They always attack others, and get MOD happy when someone even tries to defend themselves.

Basically the average age of their posters must be 17 to behave like that.

On the hockey front, the Wild really need a "floodgates" type of game. They need to win by a clear margin tonight .... As I said before 7-0 would be a good start.

With Zenon out of the lineup, I see Petry, Hall, Smid all taking liberties tonight.

well they should. if you have less fear or players responding in kind it's a perfectly valid strategy.

Hahahaha, between the 2 GDTs there's so much hate going on for really no apparent reason. Edmonton fans still complain about the trap (how?!); Wild fans complain about Edmonton fans; now the Edmonton fans have started complaining about the Wild fans complaining about the Edmonton fans...

...dare I drop the "r" word yet?

I think the Wild will come out firing on all cylinders. They have confidence and it looks like Pominville is settling on that third line with ****** and PMB. I think Parise will have a two goal tonight. Wild win 5-1 and help Edmonton in their quest for Seth Jones.

Clutterbuck, Rupp and Mitchell could help in that area.

And as oiler fans know Clutter is literally worse than Rafi Torres.
