Coaches poll conducted for who should win the major NHL awards

The poll was completed by 13 Western coaches and 12 Eastern coaches and they only voted for players in their respective conferences.

Note: They weren't allowed to pick players from their own team

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=420953

Eastern Conference:

Hart: Sidney Crosby
Calder: Brendan Gallagher
Vezina: Carey Price (Poll was conducted after the Leafs game, before the Flyers game!)
Norris: P.K. Subban
Selke: Patrice Bergeron
Jack Adams: Michel Therrien

Western Conference:

Hart: Jonathan Toews
Calder: Brandon Saad
Vezina: Sergei Bobrovsky
Norris: Ryan Suter
Selke: Jonathan Toews
Jack Adams: Joel Quenneville

And now to wait for the Carey Price ****storm...

Just an FYI, this poll was taken before Price got pulled in back to back games.

Yeah...a Vezina winner with a .908 would be weak.

Just goes to show you how hard it is to win the Hart Trophy as a goalie. People just don't want these to be awarded to the goalies....unless you play like Hasek in the late 1990s.

How the hell does Price keep showing up? Saw that McKenzie said he was the consensus for the Vezina. How? Guy's got a .908% sv % and a 2.50 GAA. Lundqvist has easily been better.

Just terrible.

Henrik Lundqvist, James Reimer, Tuukka Rask, Craig Anderson, and Ben Bishop have all been much better than Carey Price. And it's not even close in this particular circumstance.

I feel like coaches rely less on stats than some people, I'm just guessing though.

I agree with pretty much all of it except Price shouldn't be there.

If Columbus makes the postseason Bob should get some consideration for the Hart, I think.

Even if they don't rely on stats, Carey Price has been garbage.

Add Fleury (21 wins, 2.26 GAA, .919 sv%) to the "has been better than Price" list, as well.

The coaches probably looked at the success of the current Montreal season and thought Carey Price had a lot to do with it. But he certainly hasn't and has looked terrible more often than not.

Goes to show that statistics dont matter that much.

How can statistics not matter? They reflect how poorly Carey Price is playing.

What has he contributed to Montreal this season?

When there is a huge disparity and the sample size is similar, they do.

If Carey Price wins the Vezina, it will be the biggest travesty in quite some time. There are 5-6 goaltenders who have objectively had superior years.

i'd vote lundquist instead of price. price hasn't been so great this season IMO before his last 2 games.

The poll was completed by 13 Western coaches and 12 Eastern coaches and they only voted for players in their respective conferences. He "topped the survey" in the East. Where does it say they all voted for him?

You guys are right... coaches don't know what they're talking about.
