I tried my best to ignore this, tried my best to not get my hopes up, but all for not. I'm disappointed the Canucks are once again the Bridesmaid. **** it all anyway.

He looks like the type of player that would fit well with Getzlaf and Perry. Big, uses his body well, seems pretty fast..

Why are you so preoccupied with the Canucks? It's pretty sad.

Notice that the teams you mentioned are all big market teams.

Which rumour do you think gets your site more hits?

"Rumour: Laganiere to Vancouver/Montreal"

or

"Rumour: Laganiere to Anaheim"?

Small market teams only show up in rumor blogs if they allegedly have something for sale. And ultimately, 99% of rumours are BS anyway.

Use your head, this isn't a reflection on Laganiere at all.

Path of least resistance to NHL pay, combined with Anaheim is good team and a nice spot. Hard to win the top college UFAs without an easy NHL spot for them to grab.

Just like leafs fans had Getzlaf and Perry penciled into their lineup?

Wanted him in Montreal, but not a big loss. Anaheim with the free prospect.

Bonino is probably going to be our 2C when he gets back, which may mean that Laganiere will get a shot at the 4C spot.

As for Laganiere...This is a cool and surprising signing for all the Duck fans, I don't think any of us suspected or even suggested him. I think credit has to go to Burke! B.M doesn't know how to sign high talent

Can anyone give us some knowledge on this kid? Most people envision him playing the wing (Well, LW cause of Pears) with Getzie. He's big and isn't afraid to get dirty. He reminds me an awfully lot of a younger Dustin Penner when we signed him.

I'm not mad that we didn't land Roy. Nor am I mad about what we gave up to land Lombardi.

I think the proper person to credit here is Madden. Burke isn't the head of our scouting department.

Actually it probably goes to McNab. Madden heads the scouting department, but McNab seems to be the college guy. He was behind McDonald, Kunitz, Glencross, Penner and Carter, probably not much different here.

You're probably right. I'm just pointing out that Burke shouldn't just be given credit for everything from here on out.

If anything, Burke probably had a bigger hand in us landing Lombardi, since it was one of his old players, and he's one of our pro-scouts.

If the habs were an influence in his decision then he would come and play FOR the habs. I think he chose Anaheim for other reasons, maybe he sees himself having more opportunities on a team like Anaheim. Regardless, congratulations Ducks fans, he looks like he'll turn into a decent player.

The kid is bright. He signed as far as possible from Montreal to avoid any forms of pressure on local born hockey players.

THIS. When has Anaheim ever really been in the media, outside of the possibility of trading one of their star players? Not very often.

Mcnab and the Ducks have a solid reputation of getting undrafted college FA and turning them in to regular NHL players. That was a very underrated part of the cup winning team. Penner, AMac, and Kunitz were all top 6 players on the cup winning squad and all were undrafted college FA.

I think I remember reading Giguere saying that he'd be terrified to play in Montreal as a French Canadian.
