I don't think so.

He's in that 7-10 range currently and has been on a lot of rankings all seaso

Which players would you take ahead of him?

Jones, Mackinnon, Drouin, and Barkov, I'm guessing, are givens. Beyond that?

Jones
Mackinnon
Drouin
Barkov
Nishushkin
Monahan

Possibly Nurse or Lindholm

That 7-10 area is a questionmark at this point mostly depending on who the team picking needs more

If you are outside the top 5, you have to think Nurse is the best option. He is the second best d prospect in the draft.

He's likely going 6th

How does Zadorov compare to someone like Cowen?

I've see that comparison thrown around a few times by different prospect sites, but a better defensively Coburn is closer based on his offense at this point. Next year it could be different

I am almost sure Button in his prospect chat compared him to Coburn. I don't know how we can say he is better defensively yet than Coburn though as his peak currently. I hate player comparisons too.

Which is probably why I want Nurse over Zadorov. Nurse has more of an offensive edge, but he still has snarl to him.

And so does Zadorov.

Let the guy's offense develop. He's only going to get better.

He could step in right now and be a shutdown D man for a team that needs a shutdown D man.

Do you really think that's the team's biggest need (when healthy)?

Schenn, Coburn, Grossmann--it seems we have enough of those types.

I'd be disappointed if they took Zadorov over Nurse. What I'm a bit more torn about is Zadorov vs. Ristolainen. From what I can tell, Zadorov is far more physical, while Ristolainen brings a bit more offense. Both have good size, and both seem strong (for their level) in their own end.

I remembered reading a bit more hype about Ristolainen before the season, so perhaps he wasn't as impressive.

Honestly, I'm more of a fan of Rist than Zadorov. Rist is pretty big, but can move well and is a very good two-way PMD. A lot of the highlights I've seen of Rist, he has a VERY good wrist shot.

I don't expect us to be on the board when Nurse is.

But a lot of you guys are writing him off based on his early part of the season with London.

If it's between Zadorov and Ristolainen, I still take Zadorov. Ristolainen was a top 7 pick on most scouting sites this season but has dropped to 11-17 .

Again with comparisons, but I have seen him compared to Seabrook. Button again. He gave a lengthy response in chat about how he sees Rist as a long time NHLer, but doesn't know if he will hit his full potential. He basically says he sees how Seabrook can go out and dominate at times in games, but can't keep it up for the whole game. He also makes some mistakes where you say what the hell was he thinking. Again I do not like comparisons, but that is what one of the leading scouts for TSN says, I will respect his opinion.

I just really want Nurse since Jones isn't in the picture. His scouting reports seems like he really could be a special player. Just need to let all these kids take the right path to the NHL and let them develop.

I don't think Zad/Rist/Nurse should be playing in the NHL next year.

If Nurse is off the board and we're around the 8th or 9th spot and Zadorov's there, I'm taking him.

I honestly think if Jones/Nurse are gone, we are picking forward.

Say we are 9th.

Jones, MacKinnon, Drouin, Barkov, Nurse, Monahan, Lindholm, and Nichushkin are off the board.

What forward would we be taking?

Just take a D man in that case.

I would go with Rist or Zadarov there. If it is a F the Flyers have BPA there, I would rather trade back a few spots.

Yeah--it was addressed to those who said we would take a forward at 8th or 9th if Jones and Nurse are off the board.

With the 9th selection in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, the Philadelphia Flyers select Max Domi.

I'd begin a petition to get Holmgren fired.
