Again, #10 overall. For all the times I've seen people ***** about not having a top 10 pick, there was our only one since 2004.
Not necessarily change it but take it into consideration maybe? You said it's been three full years since he was drafted. He was injured. That plays a role in a prospect's ability to progress and develop.

That read like the temper tantrum of a child, not coherent points on which serious discussion can take place.

I find it funny that the team played well when the new guys came in and were allowed to just go out there and have fun. Now we are playing Torts system and that horrible Sullivan power play and we are going back to scrap.

I was giving Torts the benefit of the doubt, but if we continue to lose the rest of the games we have in front of us which should be easy wins than I say dump Torts as well.

What? Coherent points? Oh wait...hold on...Torts isn't egocentric? Talk about temper tantrums....he exemplifies them best of all. Stop being his damn spokesperson. Torts is a stubborn mule. He is not willing to change. It is his way or the highway. It's Torts Law. People plead for Clowe. Plead for a player that fits Torts' style. Man has he been invisible on the scoresheet. Grit only gets you so far. We trade Gaborik out of here because 'he wasn't fitting' anymore. Yeah a 40 goal scorer wasn't fitting anymore. You wanna know why? Because Torts implements a vanilla, grind it out, dump and chase offense. Stop with your ******** no one has time for it. Kreider is sitting in the AHL. When he was here he was the scapegoat. He might not have been scoring but he wasn't doing things terribly wrong...yet he went to the 4th line then benched then to the minors. Thank god we sent down a goal scorer. Genius. We give Torts the guys that he wants but that just makes us last years team...a team that can't score goals. Go ahead Kel defend him all night, all year. At the end of the day your in the minority. Torts is the problem. It's been all excuses during his tenure here. He doesn't have this, he doesn't have that. We've given him a multitude of players. Yet they never solve the problems. At what point do we finally understand it's the coach and not the players? Or are we gona be as stubborn as Torts is?

I didn't realize you knew torts personally. Either that or you're an extremely judgmental and currently overly emotional person. Clowe has infinity times more goals here than he had in san jose this year. Gabby wasn't a 40 goal scorer when we traded him. And his contract made it impossible to fit him next year. He didn't fit cap wise. System wise he scored 40 goals twice in three years with torts "grind it out" system. Kreider needs some AHL time, nothing wrong with that. He's a young kid, lets not rush him.

He led this team to an eastern conference championship in the reg season last full season, and brought us to the conference championship last year. Get a ****ing grip. Its pretty ****ing stubborn and arrogant of you to think you know better than Torts with all he's accomplished in the NHL. What have you done? ***** on the internet from your couch? I'm not impressed and neither Sather nor Dolan give a **** what you think, and good for them they shouldn't.

Torts is only as good as Lundqvist let's him. At least that's what it seems like.

Lundqvist didn't play that well, Rangers got in an early 2-0 hole and they picked up their play.

I just don't understand how a team with two days off had bad 1st periods in the last two games.

The sooner Torts and Richard$ are gone, the sooner we can actually play something that resembles hockey.

The day when I can stop hearing about being a "Tort's" guy can't come soon enough.

Tonight's loss is on the players not giving a ounce of effort until the 3rd, not the coach. John Tortorella is not getting fired this season.

Get over yourselves.

All this just sounds stupid.

2 goals for Clowe is infinitely more? 2 goals? TWO? Are you kidding me? Thank god you aren't a politician in a debate otherwise your campaign team would have to be fired and banished to a dark hole.

Wait, wait, wait....Gaborik didn't fit the grind it out system? Wait....one more minute....gaborik didn't fit the uncreative and offensively challenged system? Is that what you're telling me. It is a goal scorer's fault for not fitting that system? That dump and chase system? What drugs are you taking? What rose colored glasses are you wearing? Because I need both so I can be as naive as you are.

Rush Kreider? Who's rushing him? Torts certainly isn't because when he's been up he has barely played to truly show he is being rushed. I don't care about a few mistakes. He has not been given a fair chance. This team has struggled all year to score goals, to score on the PP. So we decide to push out a young player who can score. That makes sense. Stop drinking the kool aid. Stop buying into the bs.

Oh and give it a rest with he led us to the ECF....because he barely did that. THANK GOD he got us past ottawa and washington with two game 7 series..THANK GOD he did that with a team that finished 1st in the conference. How naive are you? Please tell me. I don't care what experience I have or don't have in the NHL. The same could be said for you...what the hell do you know? It is pretty apparent to many here what the problems are with this team. We were outplayed by the devils bottom two lines. Henrik Lundqvist led us to the ECF not torts. It was an offensively challenged team. Stop blowing Torts. Stop living in the past. Torts won a cup in a different hockey era. During a grind it out, clutch and grab era. His philosophy worked then. Torts was a 4th line checking type player when he played. It is no wonder he has no clue about offensive creativity. This dump and chase crap does not work here. The game is faster all around. The rangers dump in and they get beat to the puck; all the sudden theres an odd man rush going the other way. They can't sustain offense. How many more excuses are you willing to make? Or is it just every single players fault that's been brought into this organization during his tenure? In your eyes yes because Tortorella is God and if a player can't play for him they must be garbage. What has HE accomplished here? Do tell. I don't want to hear about last year because last year they had flaws too. They could not score for him. It is his system. I'm sick of this defense of Torts. I tried to wait him out. But this is brutal. They struggled at the coliseum. They did not have great offense. No surprise there though. But we'll blame the players instead. Keep replacing them for the next decade.

Today was a prime example of Tortorella hockey.

I bet he just blames "the bounces" for us losing today.

The players did not play well. But part of being a coach is...you know...coaching. Richards should not have been on the ice for any PK tonight. Since when does he kill penalties? Boyle went down....so use Brassard. Not slow as **** Richards. Powe is on the ice under 2 minutes to go. He doesn't know when and when not to put Nash on the ice (and that's with me being absolutely frustrated with nash's play in his own end, however, you still need to play him). They are down a goal in the 3rd and all the sudden NOW Torts wants to roll all 4 lines? What?

Two days off and he did not have this team ready to play. Stupid penalties and pathetic Power Plays. How does Nash not start the PP? Please explain that one.

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but aren't the players the ones playing the game? And they've played hockey before, right? I have a feeling that MAYBE the blame should be on them. I know, it's crazy-talk.

At this point, I'd settle on Richard Simmons being the coach of the Rangers. Win or lose, they'd at least be fabulous.

Or Scott Gordon. Preferably Scott Gordon.

I'm not sure who it was, but someone on here had a great idea and I'm on board with it. Every time we mention the New York Rangers head coach's name, we follow it with a facepalm emoticon.

For example:

1) Fire Torts ()

2) Torts () needs to stop playing Richards and Boyle so much.

3) Why does Torts () hate Kreider?

4) TORTS () TAKE GIRARDI OFF THE POWER PLAY!!!

It's obvious they came into Philly expecting an easy game. They didn't play the way they SHOULD'VE until the 3rd. They're not taking it one game at a time, simple as that. That's partially on the coach, but eventually you need to hold the players accountable and place MOST of the blame on them.

Torts has been grating me a lot more lately, but the team looked about as interested in tonight's game as I did during HS math.

Oh please stop with the bs. The players play the coaches system. Have you played organized sports? Have you played to at least the college level? Because I have. If a coach asks you to do something or play a certain system, you do it. You certainly don't go out and do whatever you want. This team plays a dump and chase offense. They play a grind it out game. Are you not seeing that or are you being naive like someone else here? I guess you were satisfied with the puck possession in the last 5 minutes of the game. They were getting beaten to pucks, couldn't carry the puck in, and any time they might have been able to carry it in or make a quick outlet/short pass they dumped it in instead. They play to the tune of what torts wants. It hasn't worked ALL YEAR. It's magnified even more now with 6 games left.
