Not disagreeing with you. If Pavs had even a league average SV%, we'd be sitting in the playoff picture right now.

Burmi's line was beasting out there tonight possession wise.

Jokinen, as per usual, is just a massive downer of a player and an anchor on an otherwise BUOYANT (see what I did there) team. And not the good kind of anchor.

Edit: Not sure why everyone is hating on Hainsey tonight. First goal was just a freak accident. He made alot of smart plays out there... the St. Louis "incident" was every bit as much the fault of the guy who passed it (can't recall right now).

I like the shootout choices. Wheeler is an automatic because of his quantity of attempts and 44% success rate, which is pretty good. Santorelli has a higher percentage but a smaller sample. The third guy should be whoever was hot that night...in this case Ladd.

How come no Stamkos, Lecalvallier or St. Louis in the shootout?

Can someone explain to me why Hainsey is getting blamed for that goal against? In the replay, Hainsey clearly checks Bogosian's location twice before passing it directly to him. Is it Hainsey's fault that Bogo didn't have his stick on the ice to accept the pass?

I know it looks bad in real time, but with replay I'm having a hard time figuring out how that's (entirely) Hainsey's fault.

Is it just me, or does the Rangers' schedule look ridiculously easy in the last week? Might not be looking good for us, they could probably win every game they play.

Hainsey is a bit of a scapegoat for this team

I also agree that pavs need to be more consistent, but then again, so does this entire team as an whole unit.

He's getting better in shootouts, so that is a start in the right direction.

Hainsey is also 6th in the NHL in blocked shots. The next closest Jet is Stuart in 48th.

A stat that last season everyone praised and praised Mark on, but I imagine it's because Stu also throws hits which look cool on the ice.....

I'll second this. No way you can legitimately lump all the blame on Hainsey. That was poor communication on both.

Because the smart play is along the boards.

I believe you meant to say Burmi's line was "breasting".

Fun / exciting game!

Ladd was playing possessed out there. Couldn't work any harder, and some great goals plus an assist and the SO winner. 1st line played like a first line. Wheelers goal - so much patience, and a nice snipe. As usual, Little working hard on all those plays - goes unnoticed a lot of the time.

3rd line played really well - some great chances. Really liking Tangradi and Santorelli on that line. Awesome SO goal by Santorelli - nice to have a sniper like that for SO's. Tangradi dropping the gloves in defense of Burmi was nice to see.

Some great saves by Pavs in the SO.

Kane mostly invisible - it's so unfortunate he has no real linemates most of the time.

Buff has had better games - D was a bit shaky overall.

A win's a win - it's unfortunate that it doesn't add to the ROW, but onwards and upwards!

So i hear antropov might be back in the line up sometime this week. Wonder where he is going to slot in? Replace joki on the second line? Totally down with that

So disappointing. No speed, shiftiness, or hands out there. Terrible. That decline is beyond reasoning. It's Cheechoo-esque. Shaun Alexander like.

Possibly true, I've never played hockey and have only been watching for a few years, which is why I ask. But a puck put around the boards would definitely have been intercepted by St Louis, whereas his attempted pass to Bogo would've maintained possession and perhaps started the rush. I would never recommend doing that blindly, but again, he did look beforehand.

Just an unfortunate play, I think. Certainly a miscommunication you hope not to see from regular D partners, though.

I think the worst Jet tonight was Jokinen, easily.

He looked a full second behind every play he was involved in.

Kane looked good but got absolutely ZERO to work with from his linemates. I'm glad his work ethic is still so high when he has to do everything himself. If he gets some offense to play with next season, look out.

He shouldn't be getting the blame he is getting since things happen so fast especially against such a good goal scoring line. But while he checked Bogo's location the right play was the conservative pass to the corner. Even if Bogo picks up the pass he is taking it to the corner so why take the risk. That being said both Bogo and Hainsey made a ton of top rate defensive plays tonight.
