Ottawa - Winnipeg

Jakob Silfverberg
Jim O’Brien
Matt Puempel
Ottawa 1st round pick

For

Andrew Ladd

- Ladd has three years left on his deal and would be the perfect winger for a returning Spezza.

- I can totally see why the Jets would pass but I thought it was a solid proposal.

Does Ladd really have enough of a track record to be worth a package like this right now?

Ottawa and Winnipeg are both going in the same direction. Both need to add high talented players, and Winnipeg isn't going to let go of theirs.

Great value but it would be too hard to deal our 30-goal scoring heart and soul leader.

And before someone says he's never scored 30 goals, he had 29 and 28 the last 2 years and he's on pace for over 30 this year (on an 82 game season) so close enough for me.

Approached 30G the last two years... would hit 30+ this year if not for lockout... heart and soul leader

Silfverberg is gold. I would not trafe him straight up for Ladd. At least it is a reasonable amount of assets for the more established player. But as a Sens fan Zibanejad and Silfverberg are untouchable.

Uh... hate to agree with you, but hell no. That package doesnt even come close to what was given to Hossa or Kovalchuk, let alone Andrew Ladd.

You will probably see Ottawa package assets together for an impact winger... it may not be Ladd but they will target an impact winger and go hard after him.

Sens window is now... Spezza is not getting any younger... Andersson and Lehner give the team a ridiculous 1-2 in net... D is good... lots of depth players... lots of cheap talent.

The Sens are ready to go for it... they are loaded with youth ad prospects

Not even close from Ottawa's perspective, take out silfverberg and its decent. Ladd is good and all but I dont see him as the first line player ottawa is looking for.

He didnt score 30 goals. Its not rocket science. I can understand you dont want to trade Ladd, but saying he is a 30 goal man, is a load of crap. The package offered is for a 30-40 goal sniper, bar none.

I suggest you watch more Jet games... Ladd is like a younger Shane Doan

That package is worth more. Not saying they won't look to add someone but not at that price for Ladd.

Thanks boss. He's on pace for over 34 this year, so I'll say it again. Listen closely. CLOSE ENOUGH FOR ME!

Is that rocket science enough for you?

Ladd is 27 years old
10-11 - 29G
11-12 - 28G
12-13 - 18G (In 42GP)

Our time is not now, just because spezza is almost 30 doesnt mean we trade our young guys for a 27/28 year 20-30 goal scorer and 50-60 point guy. Ladd will give us a boost but not enough to get as a cup,but our future will suffer by trading silfverberg, peumpel and 1st round pick. Our core is pretty young, karlsson at 22, lehner at 21, then cowen, turris, zibanejad, conacher etc.. If spezza can stay healthy he has about 4 years left so no time to trade our young guys for ladd

Go read up on Johan Larsson... Matt Hackett has had some good success at the NHL level 13GP .914sv%

So he is a 30 goal man, oh wait, I dont have to do any work, that is great....

Look Im not going to get into a ****fit, the point is, like Pominville, Ladd is invaluable to his team, I'm going to give up a legit stud, and two 1sts for him! That wasnt even close to the Pominville deal, who at least is a comparable player if not better.

The guys we move in the deal are easily replaceable because of our depth.

We can take run at the cup now and for the next 5+ years

Oooh 13 GP... I'm getting excited already... I'm willing to admit I dont know much about Larsson, but at the same time, based on Hackett being a goalie, he would have to be an extraordinary prospect for what you are saying to make sense. Meaning he is above Silfverberg.

Its gonna take a quite a bit for silvferberg to be moved, ottawa is really high on him. What I dont get is wpg needs a top 6 forward and trading ladd wont help tht

Yea.. and I'm pretty sure Ryan Callahan has been on pace for 35-40 goals for, forever, I'm not a fan of excuses.

I'm glad its close enough for you, bottom line, I dont want to trade a young future 20-40 goal scorer and 2 1st round picks for a probably 30 goal man with a pretty big cap hit.
