Wait so is calgary rebuilding or going for it again?

Calgary's rebuild will be based around taking advantage of opportunity and targetting solid players. They won't be looking to tank for many years in a row.

I'd like Ryan Jones please. I'd also like Weiss if the term (years) is reasonable. If he's willing to sign for 4 years at 22 million then sign me up. If he wants 6 years or more, then I'd pass. Also wouldn't mind Fistric or O'Byrne if we can jettison Sarich. Sarich is just too slow. I'd look at quality older players if they are willing to go for a 1 year deal. Guys like Elias, Morrow and Cullen could be good fits and moved at the deadline for 2nd's at minimum if we're out of it.

Of course it will be the Wild.

Actually I expect them to be one of the least active teams. Of course, I thought the same on the trade deadline...

There's what Feaster says for public consumption and then there's reality.

If you're running a goaltending tandem of Ramo/Berra (as looks likely) then you're not really gunning for the playoffs no matter what you say.

I can see Winnipeg going after Weiss and Fehr during #freeagentfrenzy.

I can also see Winnipeg going after Simmonds during the draft, for Buff.

Hadn't thought about Weiss for the Jets. We're caught in a bit of a in between year I think. Still a year on Jokinen's deal, and Scheifele will almost certainly be here by fall of 2014. Probably much sooner. So with Little and Burmistrov probably here for a while, and Jokinen as the bridge until Scheifele is ready I'm having trouble seeing where Weiss would fit in.

Teams have pressure to win.

There will always be moves.
