TSN just did a "Most bang for your buck" and PAP doesnt even get a mention. Why? because he would win in a land slide prolly. Either that or they dont know who PAP is.

I'm watching too. Colorado is just not covered well enough, not mass market.

Semin? 7 million dollar Semin? I mean he's having a good season, but it's the season you'd hope he'd have with that type of salary.

Semin's games are all before the reporters go to bed so a lot more exposure.

i admit i wasn't thrilled with PAP being the one big move we made in FA but he's doing some serious work.

Brandon Prust, Alex Semin and Sheldon Souray were the candidates. im pretty sure PAP makes more then only Souray unless Prust is getting paid under 4 mill in mtl.

Was just reading through the original PAP signing thread from last July. Man there were some that were strongly against that signing(The Mitchell signing to actually).

One of those situations where someone can be extremely happy to be wrong haha.

I also think the most impressive part was that Dater predicted the PAP signing 2 days before July 1st. That was a shocker.

I didn't understand the Mitchell signing one bit back then and honestly I doubt Avs expected him to be this good on the offensive side of the game. His decision making and defensive play still aren't all that good, but he's been amazing for what we're paying him.

As for PAP I had my concerns considering his foot speed and the JT factor, but after going through some articles (most notably the one that shows he produced at a higher clip when he was playing with Nielsen) my concerns slowly faded away.

I'm just glad to say that I was wrong on both of them.

He's starting to carve out a Marty St. Louis type late bloomer career for himself, isn't he?

Definitely has become a superstar after spending a long time toiling in the minors. How long he keeps it up remains to be seen, but right now he's playing at a higher level than most forwards in the NHL.

I would like to point out that Pappy is currently 6th in Western conference scoring and two points behind the 3 way tie of Duchene, Datsyuk, and Zetterberg and three points behind second place Getzlaf. Both Duchene and Pappy have significantly lower salaries than all of the ones above in the scoring race (may be wrong on Zetterberg though, assuming a high salary). That pair of players is one of the few bright spots of this current team. I really hope they can continue.

Just wanted to bump this thread again.
We haven't had a player score more than 80 points since the 2006-7 season when Sakic, Brunette and almost SoS broke a PPG.

It's just so great to have the consistency we haven't had in six years on this team and it was one hell of a signing!

Love this signing!

All happy with the Papper! But scoring 40 points in 40 games isn't the same as scoring 80 points in 80 games though. But I dont think that PAP would land on at least 70 if this was an 82-game season.

I think 65-70 point season is very attainable for both he and Duchene next season. Actually I might be slightly dissapointed if Duchene doesnt flirt with 80 points next season.

Agree with Duchene. With the season he and PAP are having this year, I would expect 75+ from Duchene next year, and 70 for PAP.

Especially if they get Mackinnon or Drouin added to there line for next year.

I have no doubt that my son will call me that if he sees this.
