It's a combination of poor goaltending and piss poor D. Frankly, I think the D's the bigger problem. But people wanted us to hang onto our 5th and 6th round picks so they could take us to the promised land 5 years from now. We needed an experienced Dman and we got a guy who has never played.

No team with Desharnais and Gionta in the top-6 should ever get a
sniff at home ice advantage.

Shows that this is a half-season...

Terrible D again tonight.

We went from one of the best D in the league to a single NHL-ready defenseman.

The first goal, I agree, but look at the 2nd one... It's all defense.

Unbelievable how losing Emelin completely ruined our D... let's hope Diaz can fix that.

Common .. the first goal wasn't a defensive mistake at all.

The second goal was a shot from the faceoff circle. It wasn't a laser beam either. It was top corner though. But a goalie on his game stops that.

is this something you were saying when they were playing their best? OR maybe you were planning the parade. You really can't make logical conclusions on a small sample. They are playing badly at the moment, but playoffs is 2 weeks away, and is a completely different season. They made the playoffs and it really makes no difference who they play.

That or it's just that the defense has zero balance without him.

What are the odds of Desharnais getting traded before next year?

All I can control is what I post. I'm worried about the D squad and the way it's reacting when the puck is near them. They panic when the puck is in our zone. No control and no composure.

The G's are hung to dry.

Even less odds of Gionta getting traded.

So basically, enjoy the ride.

Yes and no. Emelin wasn't all that great, but I like his game. The problem with Emelin being out is it completely ****s up the pairings. You have guys playing more minutes than they should. That's what hurts us. If we got a top 4 guy, we wouldn't be this poor IMO.

If Emelin's absence is causing this much havoc on your D then you have a pretty weak D to begin with.

BTW: Mario is one handsome dude.

The fact people can feel safe going down the wing and entering the zone with speed instead of worrying about getting flipped over is probably not helping.
