He was at his irritating best last night. He made Healy and PJ Stock seem tolerable.
He's a s*** disturber from BC. Him along with Bryan Hayes. It's too bad they weren't given the boot during TSN's realignment last month.

Scrivens was not the problem. He made some fine saves, but I think on very first goal he lost his net a bit, overplayed the puck and deflection had most net open to go in. It's expected though with so little games given to him.
Goals 2 and 3 should not be happening though. It's hard enough to play on back-to-back, even harder when refs gifted Caps two goals. I wish Kessel scored on his break away to tie it. Caps might have played differently after that.

I didn't watch the game (exam, kind of glad that I missed it) but from the highlights, it looks like nobody showed up..Scrivens made some good saves to keep us in it.

This game was going to be just as bad with Reimer in net. We'll rebound against NYI...they don't play good D and exchange chances, I think we'll get back on track (if we somehow weren't already on track).

I wasn't able to watch the game, but from what I'm reading it looks like they came out and played like they did against New Jersey. This time it was against a hotter opponent who could actually score.

How did Scrivens play? From the hi-lights it looks like he didn't have much help infront of him.

Pretty much this

Scrivens wasn't the problem , he didn't play great but the team can't continue to play like this and hope the goalie can stand on his head to steal us the game .

The NJ game end result didn't match the performance of the teams, and an example where even in a win there can be signs of concern.

Last night was not a good game either for the team all around, but lets hope this is only a hiccup in the road.

You can't really expect a team to finish 10-0 to finish a season and with other teams more desperate than the Leafs are, this was almost expected at some point.

Agreed, an off game happens to all teams.

That was Washington's 8th straight win so they're attempting your 10-0 finishing stretch drive.

never said he did. simply asked Dave9999 which goals HE thought JR would have had as he implied BS was part of the problem last night

Yes. I can't believe they had him with Ovechkin.

Ran into a Caps team firing on all cylinders. Compile that with the fact that we're terrible on back-to-backs and the result was fairly predictable. A strength of this team this year has been preventing losing streaks, so I'd think we'll see a pumped up Leafs squad for the next game.

I was hoping for a win but expecting a loss. We were in the midst of a back-to-back playing our back-up goaltender who had sat cold since March 26th (a span of 21 days) against the hottest team in the NHL.

You're going to lose some eventually and losing to the Washington Capitals doesn't matter much. We aren't jockeying with them for playoff positioning, or really at risk at facing them in the postseason in the foreseeable future. Furthermore, we took both our other contests versus them this season leaving us at 2-1-0 in the season series.

I actually thought we played a better game against them then the game against the New Jersey Devils the night before (not exactly a hard feat), but the Capitals are simply firing on all cylinders and Alexander Ovechkin is playing his best hockey in many years -- and their team is following in suit.

Left on the docket are:
Thursday, April 18 - vs. Islanders
Saturday, April 21 - @ Senators
Wednesday, April 24 - @ TB
Thursday, April 25 - @ Panthers
Saturday, April 27 - vs Canadiens

Some very winnable games, and 2 especially big ones against our Canadian rivals the Ottawa Senators and Montreal Canadiens. I would love to see us finish strong by winning 3+ out of the 5 remaining games.

!GO LEAFS GO! The playoffs are just 5 games away!!!

I was concerned with the way the Caps were able to impose their physical will on the Leafs, Orr and MacLaren were non factors and the bigger Caps forwards caused turn overs in the Leaf end. The Caps played a playoff game and gave a hint on what the playoffs will intale. Remember the Caps were able to match the Bruins physically last year and finish them off in the playoffs.

On the bright side, Winnipeg is closer to being eliminated. I seriously don't like their fans and would prefer to see Washington contending.

I expect a win against the Islanders.

again, I think it was just an off game for the entire team, including them. It's not very often the Leafs are out-gooned

Ovechkin has recorded 18 goals and 8 assists in his last 16 games which in part took the Caps from 14th in the East to tops in his Division and now 3rd ranked in the Conference.

With 8 straight wins it made them the hottest team in the NHL and our Leafs couldn't derail that yesterday.

Perhaps we will meet them in the playoffs to determine ultimate bragging rights?

Because NYR have a game in hand, the Jets are still 9th. I believe.
