Poor Rinaldo. But overall that's not a lot of money.

Yeah that is surprising. Maybe Timmy P got it wrong? Either way, I love both deals. Affordable and needed (despite what some say about enforcers on here).

Different market for Rinaldo. That's why he got less.

OK, sweet. Nothing wrong with these signings.

Thought Zac got more, but I guess age played a factor. Anyhow, great combined cap hit, zero complaints here.

Yeah...

Or, Rosehill is unrestricted while Rinaldo's restricted. The latter has no leverage.

I can't believe they re-signed Rosehill. Ugh. He sucks beyond what words can describe. And for him to get more than Rinaldo is a joke.

Anddd a writer for the Hockey Guys.

There were quite a few actually. That's where just looking at stats(advanced stats) and not watching the guy play hurts bloggers. If they had put the time and effort in watching Suter compared to Carle, they would have easily came up with the same conclusion so many other have.

Oh yea that contract that Suter signed doesn't look bad right now either as he is a norris candidate. Carle's on the other hand, whew, we dodge a bullet there.

Some people never get tired of over reacting to the smallest deals.

UFAs get more than RFAs.

A bullet, more like a tomahawk missile. We would of had a hard time resigning kimmo if we gave him that contract and Matt Carle would be our number 1 next year. Think about that.

The flyers always have a need for an enforcer. Rinaldo isn't one, he's not big enough. Rosehills cap hit is very reasonable and much much better than Shelley. I hope it doesn't prevent us from retaining hall though.

Yeah in their defense though at least they use the advanced stats instead of traditional stats like CB.

Maybe they determined contract amounts by height?

Anyway, as someone who was adamantly against Rinaldo at the beginning of the season, he has played his role very, very well and has cut way back on the stupidities. I anticipate the reputation penalties will start to decline if he keeps going this way.

Rosehill? Meh. Like Jack said, the Flyers have to have a goon under contract, and for that amount, he can enjoy the press box hot dogs when playing teams like the Red Wings or Canadiens. And he has played his role well in the few games he's been a Flyer. I don't understand the second year, though.

I'd like to see a not-too-much-more contract for Hall.

I'd rather they piss away money on Rosehill, who can actually skate, as opposed to spending almost twice as much for an old and decrepit Shelley, and for an extra year no less.

only in the NHL is $675,000 not a lot of money for roughly 7 months of work

Apologies. Rinaldo AAV is $750,000; Rosehill is $675,000. Never cook and tweet at same time

Rinaldo's price is what I thought he would be at a re-up. Rosehill's hit is fine. I mean, if he gets sent down to the minors if he sucks (and no one picks him up via waiver), he won't cost us anything.
