Those teams could end up playing each other first round too.

Skinner isn't injury prone.

He just likes taking breaks every few weeks.

Duh.

If Hall played in the eastern time zone HF would have such a raging mega broner for him.

You know, as much as people laughed at Garth Snow, the guy has shown some pretty good GMing ability.

His team currently sits 7th in the east, 3 points ahead of 8th. Guys like Strait and Hickey, both waiver pick ups, have shown decent ability to contribute. Matt Moulson is a decent partner for Tavares. PAP was similar. Our own Colin Mcdonald has become a reliable bottom six player who is physical. Grabner off waivers is another move.

A lot of people, myself included, thought it was comical at how this team got it's talent(waiver wire + trading for Vish), but these guys have gone from picking Reinhart to in the playoffs.

I gotta give props to Snow for that.

But the plan was to draft in the top 5

This is why I warned you guys that the Oilers' brief tenure in 8th spot 30 odd games in was a mirage.

Leafs were 22-16-5 last year after 43 games. 24-14-5 this season. Carlyle you magician.
It's too bad that the Leafs aren't going to have their annual late season collapse thanks to the short season. They're still a mediocre hockey team.

The Canadiens and Leafs are pretenders.

Habs are going to lose again tonight. Down 4-0 against the Penguins.

Well both those pretenders are going to make the playoffs, I certainly wish the Oilers could have pretended for a couple more weeks.

A couple of weeks back there was an article listing the worst possession teams over the last X years.. this years Leafs team is very close to the bottom of the list, along with the lottery picking Oilers squads.

They're like Minnesota last year. Fortunately for them the season will end before the regression hits full force, so they'll get a couple playoff games.

The Leafs get outshot and outchanced practically every night as well. I guess that Reimer is a keeper.

Don't look now, but Calgary is just 1 point back of Edmonton now.

Yup. They're going to pass us for sure unless we beat Colorado on Friday.

If that team finishes ahead of us, this should go down as one of the most disappointing seasons for the Oilers.

Considering that teams make up and ours. Man no way it should be close.

Just caught the highlights of the Calgary/Detroit game.

Hilariously bad goals by both goaltenders

It's already the most disappointing season of the "re-build" so why not put a capper on it by finishing behind a depleted Flames team...

I really, really hope that MacT re-evaluates the coaching staff in the summer if they close out with 12 straight losses or if they go 1-11 or 2-10.

If that were to happen then it's conceivable they could finish 27th or 28th.

Coming back from that game. Kipper bailed out his team. Howard gave that game away. Why can't goalies play that bad against us?

Also if calgary surges up the standings again do they go back to the previous plan?

Well, Feaster did say that the playoffs are their goal for next season.

BTW - what a ballsy performance by the Blue Jackets. They're momentarily in 8th with their win and the Red Wings loss.

They are anyway. Feaster was told to make the playoffs next year.

There's no doubt in my mind that the Oilers are going to fall that far.

There's not a chance that team makes the playoffs next year. Better teams in previous years couldn't
