Depending who the Devils draft this year, and if Bob can keep up the play next year, would something around Henrique work? He can play LW/C

Not sure what would be added on either side

I'd do that, but I doubt Columbus want an AHL lifer centre as their goalie.

Other teams are not going to make huge offers because he's still unproven.

Jackets won't move him for "not a huge" offer, and maybe not even then.

So this thread?

I am as much a Price hater than Savard was a Halak hater. (IE, hate have nothing to do with it.)

Bobrovsky is a young goalie, expected to be among the Vezina and Hart nominate.

What is not to like?

(.........waiting for the Jim Carey reply)

I think the Flyers would give up Bryz...

We can see the impact of being a starter in a more offensive division had on a Lindback.

Also for what it worth, Bob have experience as a starter in the KHL. While Schneider was so so in swiss.
I'm not going to argue tooth and naill.

But Schneider was the best goalie in the AHL. And he was actually quite good in the Swiss league.

And Bobrovsky might have been the starter, or started the majority of the games, but his play wasn't at the same level that Schneiders was in the games he played prior to this season.

I have no problem offering Luongo and maybe Ballard for BOB.
Columbus may have to add a pick to make it even because Roberto is under control for a few years.

The Jackets wouldn't need Ballard

Wouldn't touch him now. Never a good idea to buy when his value will never be higher

Serious question

Why the hell did the Flyers trade him?

I know they had Bryzgalov signed long term, and amnesty buyout where not in place, but why trade him, he was still an RFA and they could have kept him as a backup.

idk, it's not like he was eating up lots of cap space either. anyway i highly doubt he would be the goalie he is today if he stayed in philly. primarily cause Jeff Reese is atrocious.

Really weird, he had a great first year, so there was I mean there was some potential, and like you said, he wasn't asking for a lot of money, Brz didn't have the great first year, and its not like they had a better option for a backup.

I mean the return was decent on the trade, but why not keep him as a solid backup, and might get a better return later on if there is no use for him.

Did he maybe ask for a trade behind the scene? Maybe he felt like he could be a starter somewhere else?

I think they was wanting to give Bob a deserved chance to be a starter somewhere.

Its show Philadelphia can be a classy organization.

my whole point is there is alot of speculation that yes, if these teams had better goaltending they might be closer to contenders. If Bob was closer to .900 Columbus would be looking at Seth Jones.
On a historical basis, how is Nashville not better than Columbus? I can't fathom the substantiation for your argument.

Bryz was top 10 in wins, top 20 in GAA and 30th in SV%. But when you look at his stats by month it shows he got much better as the year went on. GAA of 2.67, 2.28 and 1.43 in Jan, Feb and March...including player of the month.

Bob was to make 1.75 mill as a backup. For a cap team, that is a lot.

Homer did say that Bob deserved the chance to be a #1 somewhere so he traded him. I don't think it was a request by Bob.

I think it was more that the Flyers signed Bryz to speed up a cup chance before Pronger got too old. But of course, it was backfired with his injury.

More like Bob was just an ineffective backup. Bob was brutal in his last half-dozen starts of 11-12. He needed to play more to find his game, and the Flyers didn't think he was going to get that opportunity there, so they moved him for a few picks.
