I recon that odds aren't that high for it, but NYR at left D has Staal, McD and MDZ. NYR also just has a great shortage of offense from the blueline, so the fact that MDZ ice time is pushed back in favor of the two very strong D's McD and Staal also creates an even great imbalance.

It seems like one of our LD's are constantly hurt, so that decrease the odds for a move though. But it seems likely that something will give there sooner [U]or/U] later...

If a right handed D that can play on the PP becomes available, I wouldn't be suprised to see NYR swing like MDZ and Kreider, or whatever proper value is, for that D.

It would never happen because top prospects rarely get moved but how about an Isles/Oilers blockbuster.

Nail Yakupov
Martin Marincin

Griffin Reinhart
Nino Niedereitter

I expect fans of both teams to very much reject this idea.

If Edmonton moves any of their big 4 forwards, I expect they will land a quality, young nhl d-man. I think they'd want Hamonic instead of Reinhart (still in in juniors). Snow would say no, price is too high, Hamonic's too important to lose.

I wonder if this is the Plan B if they're not able to get something for Luongo. Something like the Nash deal last summer, Kesler to a team that wants him for added depth to the lineup.

The isles gm says repeatedly that he's building thru his home grown youngsters, not giving up on his youth movement.
Snow refused to give Parenteau the term he wanted last summer because he wants those cheap, homegrown kids in top roles.

Strome is his #1 prospect, coming off another great junior season and looks very polished in his 7 AHL games since joining the ST. Newsday says he's expected to challenge for a roster spot in 2013-2014 and that Snow wants his prospects filling roster holes.

Isles will continue to have budget issues until they move in 2015.

The Isles expect B. Nelson/Strome/Nino/De Haan/Donovan/Lee to all make serious pushes for a limited number of roster spots in 2013-2014.

Isles are not trading a top prospect to improve depth.

Plenty of press sources, say there will be a crowded market this summer between buyouts/ufas/ teams getting under the cap.

I see these Ryan Kesler rumors... He'd be a great fit into the system we're building in Dallas.

And they're not rumors, I know, but someone said Kesler, and that interests me.

I think Schneider goes, not Luongo. And I'm going to predict to NYI, they have the prospects/young players + picks to do it. My guess is that Schneider will also be packaged with one of Vancouver's defensemen. Result will be NYI being a powerhouse next year.

No need to flip. Isles/Oilers don't match up well as trade partners. Both teams want to improve their bluelines.
The Oilers best trade partners will be teams with deep blueline talent: Phoenix/NYR.

The Isles will give Strome/Nino every chance to claim a spot on Tavares wing.

That's probably what it would take to get Staal, the organization values him highly.
