If the BJ's make the playoffs...Bob gets the Vezina for sure especially if he continues to do well into the playoffs. Wish Bob the best but bitter pill to swallow for Flyers fans...

Maybe I'm weird, but I'm not bitter at all. Go Bob.
It kinda funny actually, because last year I was really torn on wether or not I wanted the Kings to win the Cup. There was definitely a part of me that rooted for the Devils to beat them ... Ugh.

That will make it two years in a row that the Flyers have really pissed me off.... After seeing the Kings win last year, I don't think I could take seeing Bob win the Vezina while we have a nutcase signed to a huge contract for the next forever.

Good for Bob, though. Just like I wouldn't root against Carter/Richards/Gags, I won't root against Bob.

Can you imagine if Bob pulls a Halak and single-handedly knocks of top seeds?

Honestly, it is hard not to be bitter considering the goalie drama we've had to endure for literally decades!

But yeah..going to cheer for Bob. Can't be bitter at him or the BJ's considering the lack of success as an organization they have experienced beyond Mason's rookie year. Howson got fleeced with Carter but boy did he leave a parting gift with the Bob trade...

Vezina voting occurs before playoffs and thus playoffs performance doesn't figure in award

We have to remember it was reported that Bob went to Homer and said he wasn't thrilled with his situation here. He never officially asked for a trade if I remember correctly, but was hinting at it. Homer did what was in the best interest of the player and moved him. Now we can get mad about Bryz being an idiot and ****** goaltender, hindsight is always 20/20. At that time we didn't know we would have the amnesty buyout after the lockout. We had a goalie locked up long term to be our future. That month of March Bryz put up hurt us, because it might have given management a false sense of security about how he can perform.

Yeah it doesn't figure in the award but playoff success will surely substantiate it.

Yeah in the post season closeout interviews Bob expressed his feelings and Holmgren felt compelled to not hold him back....but it was still an egregious miscalc. The stupid contract that Bryz got took precedence over common sense. We coddled the wrong guy. Bob was a good soldier throughout and worked hard in practice and did pretty good when he got a start considering he had to come in cold. I remember him carrying the team in particular games and wished Lavi would give him more consecutive starts but he continued to appease Bryz to try and get him going. Yet Bryz showed his appreciation by underperforming and opening his stupid big mouth drawing attention to himself like when he didn't start the Winter Classic. It's no wonder it is being reported that him and Lavi have a rift....

You do realize a big part of the reason why we haven't won a cup since Nixon was president is due to goaltending right?

And Bob and all his glory would of fixed our problem? Hextall couldn't even get us a cup and he won the ****ing Conn Smythe on the losing team.

Or are you being sarcastic?

For sure, but he's gone now. I love the dude and wish him all the luck and also wish we kept him, but this is reaching stalking ex-girlfriend on Facebook levels of break up depression lol

Again...goaltending has been a BIG problem but not the only problem so NO he wouldn't fix ALL our problems but he would be a BIG PART of the SOLUTION. That's all I'm saying. Anyway, yeah I and the others most irritated by the trade need to get over it but it is hard to not mourn and lament when you see success on the other end so soon...sorry but this is over 30 years of pent up frustration spurred by yet another former Flyer having significant success elsewhere so soon...ugh

Ha ha...touche'

Guilty as charged but again I think I have good reason based on the decades of frustration.

Honestly, I'm not even really frustrated by Bobrovsky's success, because I firmly believe that he was never going to progress if he had stayed in Philadelphia. He wasn't going to get the work. He might have gotten a few games in--enough to show more promise or, conversely, more inconsistency. In either case, he wouldn't have been likely to re-sign after this season.
