Bang/Henderson

It looks like the Preds will be calling up Bang and Henderson for the game in Chicago on Friday night.

i can hear this in my head:

"With the 1st overall pick in the 2013 NHL entry draft, the Nasvhille Predators select, Nathan Mackinnon!"

Who the heck is Henderson? I like Bang though he's got some really quick feet and he battles.

Henderson is a left winger i believe.. adsfan or whomever can correct me if wrong but he is definitely less than impressive in Milwaukee. wouldn't be surprised if he was in Cincinnati..

Henderson has a pretty nice shot, not NHL material though IMO.

Henderson earned a two-way contract last season through his play in Milwaukee and would've been recalled at least twice already this season had he not been injured.

He is a good skater with size and smarts. Plays a two-way game in the same fashion Joel Ward did.

If you've liked Bång, you'll appreciate Henderson's game.

Henderson would've been here last week, but was injured. He earned first star of the game honors on Sunday in Milwaukee's huge victory with a goal and a team-first key shot block in the dying seconds.

so if he wasn't injured before, we would already have seen him? he must have improved his game. ive always assumed he was a AHL/ECHL guy, nothing more. just shows how decimated we are with injuries.. looks to be a blessing.

I personally would like to see if Brian Finley still has game. Don't give up on your first round picks until you really, really give them a chance in a 4 game stint at the end of a season.

Brian Finley retired several years ago due to injury. Neither Bång or Henderson were drafted by the Predators, they earned their contracts and call ups through their play. I don't get what the point of your post is or why everyone is so eager to dump on these guys?!?

I'm not dumping on these guys at all. I'd call Billy Houlder out of retirement if it helped us go 0-4. I want us to field a cynical, cynical squad of players. I want to lose. We need to lose. I'm in favor of losing. I know Finley retired and he couldn't stop a beach ball when he played. Rinne can steal a game, which we can't afford. That's my point.

do you actually see bang as an NHL player? i don't... if he is, its on the 4th line.. ill reserve judgement on henderson but im sure he is nothing more than AHL lifer. i don't mind though.. we need the losses. not like we have a choice with the injuries

Yes, Kevin Henderson is a LW. In 65 games, he has 16 G 11 A +9, his best pro season. He is 6-3 and 205 lbs. He has played well in Milwaukee and is currently 6th in team scoring, 9th if you include the call ups. Kevin is 26 with an accurate shot. He is a good 2 way forward at the AHL level and a good forechecker. He has 4 years of AHL experience. He played from 2009-11 for the Worcester Sharks. Henderson played 2 games in Cincinnati last season before being promoted to Milwaukee.

Last game he scored the GWG and blocked Chicago's last shot out of the D-zone. He was the #1 star.

do you see him as a guy that could turn into an NHL player? say similar to a guy like smithson or fiddler who just played hard with less than impressive NHL skills?

Yes and yes. He would be a bottom 6 forward and a penalty killer. He has played the second and third lines in Milwaukee. He fit in with the Admirals from day one. At that time I didn't know that he had played in Worcester, only that he came up from Cincinnati. He could still develop some more. This may be his only chance to show that he can be a role player in the NHL. He is smart and steady with the puck and doesn't try to play above his abilities.

I can't believe some of you are rooting to lose. I can't do it and I'd hope none of our players would be ok with it either.

I hate hate hate losing, more than I love winning.

I'm ok with losing all 4 unless DRW get into the playoffs because we lose to them.

He has been a bright spot over the past 4 games for me. Everyone wants prospects to come in as 1st liners, but I think Bang is talented enough for the 3rd line but not much else. He has been working hard, is good with battles and solid defensively. Granted 4 games is a small sample size so he could suck for the next 4 and have a bad camp or play great and force his way onto the lineup or as a 13th forward.

Not better just different. I guess I'm probably too competitive.
