Would be much appreciated.

We will send you a signed team picture for your trophy case if you do.

And maybe with it a bag of pucks.

How would beating Washington twice help the Jets take the Rangers' spot?

It doesn't, but it helps us get 3rd, and us winning helps bump out the Rangers.

Everyone wins?

Caps losses don't help the Jets bump out the Rangers. In fact, Caps losses actually reduce the odds that the Rangers get bumped out of the playoffs.

Please Please Please beat out NYR for the last spot. But we're not going to let you win on Sat, you're gunna have to earn it. Catching the NYR is your only chance. Although OTT and WAS have tough schedules they will still get in. Sorry to say. But don't let NYR's easy schedule discourage you guys. I'm from NY and watch most of their games. They can't score. Lundqvist can't do it all. FLA already beat NYR the one time they met. NJD always plays the NYR tough and they are bound to snap that losing streak. People had the NYR going 6-1 in their last 7. Well I had them 4-3 and right now they are 0-1 if they do indeed go 4-3, then your last game against MON will come to this... YOU WIN AND YOU"RE IN!

Could have the tie breakers vs NYI and Washington too if the Jets keep winning. Only 1 point to make up on the NYI if the Jets win head to head too.

I'm still holding out hope that the Leafs lose out and miss the playoffs. If this happens, I'm covering my car in tinfoil and having my own parade. You are all invited to enter your own floats.

You have gained lots of fans out west with the failures of the oilers and flames. Would love to see you guys make it. Would love seeing a small canadian franchise like the one I cheer for take out an legendary team like the New York Rangers! Go Jets Go from Edmonton!

Glad I'm not the only one holding out on a Leafs collapse.

Depends who you think we're more likely to take a playoff spot from. If Ottawa wins, then that REALLY puts our own SE division destiny in our hands when we face Washington in a week.

Good luck making the playoffs! You guys stand a good chance.

With the Canucks locked in third in the West, the Jets getting in is the only thing I'm tracking as the regular season closes.

Tough call. The way Washington is playing, it seems like an Ottawa slip up is more likely.

But from a purely mathematical perspective, Ottawa would be the preferred winner since they are ahead in the standings. Washington is easier to catch.

Either way, we shoudl hope that the winner tonight is also the winner of the next match between the two. And they are both regulation wins.

Yup, precisely.

NYI-TOR and NYR-FLA are the two games I'll be focusing on tonight, we so desperately need a positive result in one of them.

nice update ot the spreadsheet. I still have Winnipeg getting in with a 4-1 record. Actually with a 3-1-1 record it would be enough points.

With 5 games to go in the season, im still not sure if the Jets, get into the playoffs, or not . But if I were to go with my gut, I would have to say that the Capitals, and the Rangers beat out the Jets, for the 3 and 8 spots.

So the Jets finish 7 in place of the NYI?

Caps losses help

See, you gained 1.4% from their loss tonight. Caps aren't guaranteed, they are only 2 points ahead of you

I just realized if Toronto losses to Ottawa, Tampa and Montreal and only beats Florida, they finish with 55pts.

If Ottawa beats Toronto and Philly and lose to Pittsburgh, Washington, Boston they finish with 56pts.

If the Islanders beat Carolina, Buffalo and Philly and lose to Winnipeg, they finish with 56pts.

If the Rangers beat Buffalo, NJ, Florida and Carolina and lose one to NJ, they finish with 56pts.

If Washington beats Montreal, Ottawa and Boston and loses to Winnipeg they finish with 56pts.

And if Winnipeg beats the Islanders, Buffalo, Washington and Montreal, they finish with 56pts.

Then the playoffs go:

3. Winnipeg
5,6,7,8. Washington/Ottawa/NYI/NYR
9. Toronto

Just need a few games to go the right way!

If the Leafs don't help the Jets out at all (and they legitimately do suck enough to lose out) I really really hope they miss the playoffs.
