Was kind of wondering the same thing... I love Fisher but I feel like Weber or Rinne again would have been a better choice.

My only guess is that they want the Asian vote

Maybe they are trying to get the "Vote for Rory" people.

We came too close last year.

Personally, I'm OK with it. The **** storm that came with last year's voting was ****ing pathetic, and having to deal with it was worse. Let the other fan bases handle that.

I hope a goalie wins the cover vote. It has been a long time since a goalie was on the cover.

They should just re-use the same cover anyway, since it'll be the same exact game...as it has for the past half decade.

I think Fisher is a strong candidate due to his wife's fan base that already has a history of turning out in droves to vote. As for Yip...no clue. Would guess he volunteered and others said go for it! Wouldn't want a second strong candidate from the team splitting the vote...

That's true. I didn't think about Carrie's fans. Maybe if the Sens choice gets voted off they'll vote Fisher.

its yip vs fisher to see who represents us.. one player from each team is represented. no votes would be split against other teams candidates... no clue on yip. wonder if smithson is an option for the oilers, too

Doubt it considering they have Hall, Eberle, The Nuge, Yakupov.

Didn't know that. Don't really pay attention to how it's done. Thanks!
