A lot more then Eriksson, Hes a game changer.

Again, It doesn't matter if you would vote for Eriksson even if you weren't a Stars fan. Anyone voting for Kessel with the Leafs fan option would obviously pick Kessel no matter what team. Your trying to skew the votes because you know hes going to lose.

Only on HF would this be close. Kessel is far better than Eriksson offensively. Kessel isn't a detriment defensively, and that is all that really matters in this debate as first liners are paid to score goals or produce offensive, not be defensive specialists.

i'd take Eriksson, for the fact he fits Boston's system better

i think Eriksson is good
but Kessel has more of an impact in a game
with just a snipe or whatever, team play

he's really scrutinized you know
but he has improved a lot, defensively of course
and when his wheels are rolling, have fun man...

i am a Leaf fan
however
haven't seen much of Loui

Interesting. Apparently only 4 Stars fans... sorry 5 (4 plus JUST the one) stars fans would take Eriksson over Kessel.

Talk about a landslide victory or kessel. Even among his own team's fans only 5 people would take Eriksson.

You mean to tell me that there's more Leafs fans than Stars fans on this site?

Shocking!

we should have also separated the poll with people living in the east and people living in the west.

I agree. Only on HFboards with the 'what have you done for me lately" attitude would it be this close. Erikssons been better for the past three seasons, Kessel has been better for the past 40 games and now it's him in a landslide. Kinda funny.

plus the previous 82

But as I said, I would have taken Eriksson as soon as 2 years ago (before the maturization of Kessel as a player). Still love Loui Eriksson though fwiw

Sabres fan saying Eriksson.

1) Defense, defense, defense
2) Better contract
3) He's Swedish?

Kessel was not better than Eriksson last year. All those posts about him being soft and terrible defensively were very true last year, though he has improved this year. Eriksson's two way and physical game more than make up for the 10 point difference. This year Kessel has been better though.

There is more to hockey than just numbers of points put up.

agree to disagree

on a side note: Eriksson's physical game? I don't recall him driving the net ferociously, nor throwing his weight around. What physical game do you speak of?

He's not a power forward by any means but he isn't afraid going into the corners or in front if the net. Kessel, especially last year, would actively avoid contact. Eriksson will take a hit to make a play. He's not Cal Clutterbuck or anything but relative to Kessel Eriksson has a good physical game.

fair enough I guess, I would say the difference between them is negligible in that regard though. Only time Kessel looks like he should be wearing a skirt is against Boston. I still stand by Kessel being better last year, but it is close. To each his own though and I would certainly love to have both if I could. They would be spectacular on the same line

Eriksson's physical game is just as non-existent as Kessel's.

Eriksson has struggled all year. Someone on our board said he was battling mono. He's still great in his own end but he has missed a lot of shots and just had some bad luck controlling the puck.

It's probably Kessel right now but if Eriksson gets out of this slump I will take him.

HFB is delusional to have this close. It's Kessel.
