If we play the Habs I think by the end of the series Subban will be one of the players I hate most in the league. Every night I see someone take a penalty against him where he embellishes the contact/impact. Last night with Pouliot... Subban must be some kind of weak for a 200 lb man to twist around and fall like that b/c someone touches your shoulder. Makes me want to puke. And then Habs win on the PP. Not unlike the Stamkos dive in our last TB game. Ridiculous.

Gryba's coming out

Cowen - Karlsson
Phillips - Methot
Wiercioch - Gonchar

but that's still 4 guys to PK without Karlsson having to do it

Possible. But it's also possible that Wier comes out. As of this minute I think Gryba is playing slightly better than Wier.

I don't think Wiercioch is coming out anymore.

I mean I guess it's possible if his performance drops, but he'll get the opportunity before Gryba.

Agreed ... I believe it will be

Methot - Karlsson
Cowen - Gryba
Phillips - Goncha

When everyone is healthy come playoff time

Yeah, I like Wiercioch's game a lot, and his stretch passes are awesome, but come play-off time if it's EK back in the line-up I think you trade-off Wier's offense for Gryba's defense b/c Wier's offense is more than made up for with EK's offense.

Also, I tried to make that all one sentence. Not bad.

(unless the decision is made based on some hunch about how well they match-up - maybe Gryba vs Mtl is a bad fit due to speed? Maybe Wier vs Bos is a bad fir due to physicality?)

Seems like the Boston - Pittsburgh game will be canceled.

I would keep Wiercioch in until Karlsson's game wind comes back, and then switch him out in favour of Gryba. But I trust that Mac will figure it out correctly either way, and I would never argue with whatever the Stach decides when it comes to stuff like this.

If what is happening in Boston was a season of 24, I would have stopped watching long ago because it's too far fetched. It's a wild scene and I hope they get closure on it asap (for the victims and people of Boston).

So that's three Boston games postponed in a single shortened season

That's pretty crazy!

It's amazing to me. The US shuts a whole city down for hours upon hours to hunt for a single 19 y/o bomber, yet they won't allow a five minute back ground check to purchase firearms.

Sorry if off topic, but I just don't get it.

I have a question for you guys. If we meet Mtl in the playoff with Karlsson in the lineup, how are they gonna draw all those diving powerplay since they wont have the puck ?

Simple. They will try to strip Karlsson of the puck then Karlsson will proceed to deke the Habs player and they will fall down.

He is not weak, put it was all part of Therrien gameplans at the start of the year. He told to his guys to fall so they can win games with powerplays. For the CH falling comes as general team effort.

Who should I be rooting for in the BUF-NYR game tonight from an Ottawa perspective? If Buffalo wins they will be two points back on 8th and if the Rangers win they will remain in 8th but be two points behind us. I'm thinking Buffalo.

Yeah, a BUF win goes the farthest in clinching us a playoff spot.

Buffalo. NE division pride + worse draft pick for them. Buffalo isnt going to realistically pass us, NYR might.

I think we'd actually fair well enough against Winnipeg/Capitals or Montreal.

Caps+Peg>>>>Habs

Especially if we have Karlsson.

But still, I'm confident with any if we have Karlsson.

We're 8 points ahead of Buffalo and they have 4 points remaining. Unless I'm mistaken, we also have the tiebreaker (we have 19 ROW and Buffalo could have a maximum of 17 ROW if they win out).

We want Buffalo to win.

Cheering for:

Buffalo win.
Dallas win.
Chicago win.
Edmonton win.
Anaheim win.

Basically all the Western teams don't matter other than me not wanting Edmonton to wind up with another top five draft pick. Be cool to see Dallas in the playoffs and I'd like to see Nashville picking in the top five to potentially grab an elite offensive player for once.
