I like Rusty and hes done pretty well in his role but I cant imagine why he thinks the he should get PP time. There isnt one player I would take off the PP for him.
That said I am sure he is as frustrated as anyone over this season. Maybe he thinks he could of made a difference. I dont know. Probably safe to say he wont be back.

I think I haven't cared less for a player wearing the O&B than I did for Fedetenko.

I just find it ironic how much out of the way Briere is going in his public pronouncements of support for Lavi. Last night when asked why the Flyers can't solve the Devils and if he saw a problem with Lavi's system...he said it's not Lavi and that in practice he's tried to communicate a bunch of strategies to counter what the Devils are doing. Maybe so...but I haven't seen it manifest on the ice (1-8 since the playoffs) and if it's because some players are on board with the strategy and others are not..well then that is a problem in itself since he doesn't have complete buy in which seems pretty obvious to me but maybe this is "over analysis."

Want to play more, then play better.

Unless you are Briere of course.

The only forward I would take Fedotenko over for PP time would be Rosehill (and Shelley, if he counts). You could make a case to take him over Rinaldo and Hall but for everyone else, not a chance. At least Knuble is strong on the puck/can screen the goalie. Fedotenko has hands of cement.

Maybe Fedotenko has been watching Briere and wondering why the **** he doesn't get a chance to be useless on the PP as well?

Eh, I'm not sure why Fedotenko thought he would have a bigger role on this team, unless of course he was told he would. I don't see him coming back anyway, but his apparent unhappiness may be the final nail in that coffin.

Meh..after rereading his comments Rusty doesn't necessarily seem crusty but just curious what exactly was communicated to him prior to signing with the Flyers?

I mean you would think him and management discussed what his role would be prior to commiting or at least there was some kind of general understanding rather than "just do what we want and shut your kulebyaka hole..."

I want a new coach to come in and reward effort and results like Sutter in LA. Funny how we all see that Briere should have been sat or have reduced ice-time to send a message. Yet Lavi did none of this...except to Couts it seems.

My thoughts too. Maybe he meant that he doesn't know if the organization will re-sign him, since he's not playing as good as he wanted to. He said he's dissapointed that he doesn't score much, etc. I've rarely (except for headcase superstars sometimes) seen a player say (while on a contract) that he's dissapointed of his role, etc. Feds also doesn't seem to be a guy who would do that.

Well, so Rusty is gone after the season (I thought we could re-sign him because he did kinda great job for us). He is a great player for defensive stuff, PK and still have some offensive upside but damn ... PP time for him? Especially here in Philly? I don't get it. It's just not possible. He is a great bottom six, PK and in recent matches Lavi gave to him some good ice-time in overall. Simply there is not any NHL team where Rusty could play steadily on PP at this point of his career.

I'm pretty upset about my role as a fan. I would really prefer to be a 6th or 7th defenseman on the team.

Maybe his perspective is that KHL teams will read his NHL stats and be like, "oh, guy doesn't produce points, he was overpaid there" and he wants to change that potential incoming perception.

I would say he's mostly earned his salary this year (say 85% of it) because of early struggles

What offense? You're Fedotenko, not Crosby.

I like Rusty, but that's quite out to lunch here. Maybe if he was in Nashville, where no one can score.

All the better to bring back Hall

Losing brings this type of thing out. Dreger said Lavi and Bryz don't like each other, Feds wants more ice time. Who's next? Feds should have just said nothing.

I think Fedotenko has played very well this year and has not gotten thew minutes he deserves. Yes he is not a goal scorer but he is one of the few centerman on the team that can skate the puck out of our d end. I hope he is resigned here but i doubt it.

What I'm confused about is that I thought the role he has with this team is the same as his role with other teams his whole NHL career, or at least most of it. It's not like his point production is down so drastically from his career norms. He's had some better offensive years but he was a younger player then. It's been since 08-09 since he had over 30 points.
