Training camp surprise

Anyone willing to make a prediction on the biggest surprise to come out of training camp this year? Oh wait, I am.

Let's see.....I'll hedge my bets with one of:

1. Hartnell starts the year on the 1st line instead of Erat.
2. Vern Fiddler is waived.
3. Tootoo hooks up with Minnie Mouse in Orlando.

Probably not really a surprise but i'll put my money on Radulov making the team from the start of the season due to another great camp.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Fiddler traded very early on, rather than waived. We've got a lot of forwards, and I think he's the one that falls a little short.

Maybe I should have predicted an appearance by J.P. Dumont?

I didn't think Fiddler would have much trade value b/c he would have to stick with the big club or be lost, right? Maybe I'm selling him short though.

Fiddler traded or on wavers to Milwaukee! How about a half dozen band-aids and a bag of popcorn? That's about all he's worth IMO.

Does it look like Radulov is going to be on the team this year?

well, we had thought for sure, but with today's signing of Dumont, who knows. Maybe, maybe not. He could very well deserve to make the team and find himself elsewhere(like last year.)

Knowing Trotz, I would say Upshall and Radulov have about equal chance of starting out the year in Milwaukee [barring no trades, of course], and eachs performance in camp will be the determining factor of who that someone is.

this isn't a surprise, but it is training camp news. i seen shea webber at the arena in kelowna saturday morning. his arms are hugh, way bigger than the last time i seen him in street cloths a couple years ago. he was playing with vern fiddler and bunch of ex-rockets, both are looking good.

then sunday morning the current rocket team was there first practise after the cut down to 30 players and they had shea on the ice with the young defenseman doing drills. good for the 16 and 17 year old to practice with a nhl player.
