I'm too lazy to look it up, but I think we've just matched the high water mark for the season in terms of games above .500 and I think it's the 2nd or 3rd time we've done it. Here's to hoping we finally smash through that barrier for good.

I was wondering, Is Arturs Kulda injured or something? Why hasnt he played a game yet?

It has more to do with our playoff run. If it ends expect Kulda and Trouba to get ice time.

That's what I was thinking. Though, I would prefer if they could throw them a bone with ~5 minutes a game.

In any case, I'm nervous as hell about tomorrow. This is the first time in my life that I can remember the Jets being close to a playoff spot.

This is, by far, the best team we have seen on this home stand. It'll take an A game to win this one, the Jets won't sneak away with 2 points unless we see a solid game from all the lines. Puck possession is key against the Isles, they play hard on the boards, they are fast and they are great on the cycle. While Tavares is obviously the biggest threat, the Isles D put up points, Grabner has looked really good lately and Josh Bailey, while he's cooled off a bit, has been unreal on both sides of the puck in the second half.

Isles D is a really gifted unit, they really move the puck around nicely and generate a lot of offence from the back end. Streit and Vishnovsky can be pretty deadly.

Limit the turnovers and be smart with the puck once we get possession... those things will be the keys to victory.

I mentioned it earlier but of all the teams we are chasing I believe the Isles are the best. This home stand has been fun but there was a clear dividing line between the games we have played up to now and the last 4 games we will be playing. up until now we have needed to beat teams to keep pace but we had the edge. tomorrow we do not have the edge IMHO......it feels like a game 7 in the playoffs or as close as we might come to it this year. we can win this game but the margin of error is razor thin (Kane cannot take one of his penalties in the wrong zone type thin)!

Last year I picked the Devils to go to the cup from the east (and the Preds from the west ). if the playoffs started tomorrow I would lean towards choosing the Islanders from the east at this exact point.

It really doesn't get any better than this.

Shouldn't we save the Prom Vest GDT for the Montreal game?

Jets need the secondary scoring to come through.
Burmi's line is due (Tangradi or the Specialist) and maybe Kane could take his turn to carry the team for a day before LLW go beast mode again on Monday and Tuesday!
Oh and Hainsey will break his Jets cherry for Lynk.

Don't feel good about the Jets winning tomorrow. Streaks end at some point. Afternoon game against a tough opponent needing a win just as much as us. Hope the boys are focused and well prepared.

Plus side, playing must win games down the stretch will give us a leg up in the playoffs. 2006 Oilers were in the same boat and didn't clinch the final playoff spot till the second last game of the season. We know how far that battle hardened team went in the playoffs.

You can't dress a D man and give them five minutes without gassing your top pairs.

Anyone else nervous about this one? I'm pretty worried after the showings against the Bolts and Canes.
