Once again. It's not one or the other.

You think throwing a hit or two might lead to a chance here or there? No, how ridiculous.

Hitting and effort aren't mutually exclusive, that's the problem.

He's got the talent, and he sees the ice well. He just needs to learn what he needs to do defensively to be effective, and figure out when he can afford to pinch/jump up.

offensively agreed

defensively hes gotta stop pinchin so damn much, and the blind backhanders are also not a recipe for success

No, he's just good. That's what it looks like to have a goalie that doesn't give up rebounds.

Agreed.

Btw, did you see Fowler's last shift? Oh my, he just took over.

You're understanding (or lack thereof) of the point of my question is way off.

The reason I ask is because scoring chances put pucks into the net. I would figure being down one-nothing, it should be more embarrassing that we can't get good chances on this terrible defense, against this lottery team.

He just needs a bit more consistency in his game, I think. Definitely an encouraging sign, though. We're going to need him to be good in the playoffs.

Seem to have a hard time controlling the puck, constantly getting it lost in skates or losing the handle

Not a hint of the team that had the 2nd best NHL record, only behind the insane Blachawks, remains.
