Come on, one point isn't that bad. Let's let them take the 2.

4 on 3 Hawks can do this. EDIT: and they just did.

It feels awful now, but everyone will be happy if we get Mac/Drouin out of this.

It feels worse that we dropped a spot to not lose for a little bit longer

Guys hustled and played with passion on the road at the best team in the league in a meaningless game. Other than taking a point it was pretty perfect from my point of view.

Interesting- we scored 9 goals in 3 games at Chicago, but 0 in 2 games against them at home

There isn't a bigger Preds fan in the world than me- I live and die with every win and loss- I'm pulling for my team with my heart, but in my head I realize that a top 3 pick could change the future of this franchise. I will take a few meaningless losses for that- not happy about it and it makes me sick, but so be it..

The work has been there lately. Tonight they were rewarded with goals (thanks, Crawford). Halischuk was Halischuk.

Forsberg was more or less invisible...but I think that's a product of 1) he's still learning the NHL game and 2) he's playing against the best competition so far. The Hawks don't give you a lot of space to play with the puck...this is probably a good game for him to learn you have to have some hustle, scrap, and grit (Halischuk) to succeed against them.

A lot of guys struggled...Josi, Weber, Bartley on D...Kostitsyn, Smith, and various other forwards.

Hali looked good almost every single shift. I liked Butler's game. Clune was at least pretty consistent. Bang and Henderson did better than some of the more experienced forwards. I was actually impressed with Henderson's hustle...I thought he did well grinding in the corners. Legwand may have been our best veteran forward.

Lots of good effort...but way too many mistakes, and aside from Bartley's great breakout pass to Halischuk...awful passing and possession.

We're basically 1/2 NHL and 1/2 AHL at this point. Considering that, we played alright. Tanking aside...I want to see effort and flashes of our future. I think we got a little of that tonight. I'd like to see more out of our veteran players...but with this many new folks on the ice, I can understand (to a degree) the general discombobulation.

a couple of weeks ago, you could say that the Preds could get hot and make the playoffs... at this point they cannot possibly make the playoffs, but they can land a potential franchise forward in the draft. This last handful of games will not be remembered for very long, but the effect of adding a guy like MacKinnon to the mix would be felt for many years going forward.

Openly cheering against the guys that are wearing Nashville on their chest is bs to me. It's fine to justify a loss with "well atleast we'll get a better pick now" is one thing but celebrating a loss is totally different.

Losing never feels good, especially against a division rival like Chicago. That being said, I am way ok with losing. With a Calgary win, we are 4th from the bottom. We have a real chance at a top four pick, maybe even top 2-3.

This season has been nothing but a horrible disappointment, but let's be real, getting a top 3 pick is the absolute lemonade out of an otherwise lemon filled season. Let the fail boat continue to sink!

Oh and higher picks don't always mean better players.

I second this exactly. This isn't about wanting to lose, it's about weighing a few losses versus potentially adding "that" guy that we've been waiting for since.....since....a long time.

I agree with much of what you said, but if we have half an AHL team out there and are missing almost all of our top forwards, and take the best team in the world to OT on the road, (including dominating the 3rd period), I'd say that's a little better than just alright.........

Of course not. But the odds of getting one are better the higher you pick, not to mention it just means more options. Anyone we might want to pick at 5 will still be there at 3.
