what i find humourous is how a thread about this is popping up on every teams board, like he was a member of the family.

Wow, I opened this thread thinking it was Crocodile Dundee and was shocked when it was Steve Irwin. Yea, I know the first post says crocodile hunter...still. My younger brother always watched his show, now to break the news.

Considering what his show was, I wouldn't say all that flukey...

The kind of character that could fill kids with wonder.

Well considering that most sting-ray attacks are not fatal (as stated in the article) it is pretty flukey. He was impaled right in the chest through to the heart. Sad to see him go.

He definately was able to make people interested in all these animals, reptiles, and fish that most people didn't want to know anything about just through his charisma and enthusiasm.

There are very few people in the world that are passionate about anything (let alone their jobs) as he was about his job. He will definately be missed.

He deals with all those poisonous animals and it's a stingray that gets him in the end. Pretty strange.

RIP.

Pretty sad when I heard. Yeah really, the guy deals with tough animals all the time, then this happens. Really tough. His enthusiasm for life in general was fantastic. I wish his family the best through this terrible time.
