That was a really important game for them. I am sure they are pretty mad.

Can't really complain they're winning but more goals would be nice.

Who do we rest in the coming games with Colorado twice and Calgary?

Surely you get Cole and Russell in there somehow, and then Jaskin as well.

Obviously Allen plays a few of them.

Dallas fans that have won a Cup with Hitch were calling the Blues "boring Hitchcock hockey" over there. They must have forgotten... or maybe they didnt find it exciting enough. Hypo's.

You gotta get some fresh legs in there but I'd really like to keep that 4th line intact. They are playing great hockey still. I like Reaves' game the past few games a lot.

McDonald should sit for sure. Wouldn't rule out sitting a Perron or Berglund either. I think those three guys could definitely use a breather.

Allen will probably start Sunday which is a smart move.

Maybe sit some veteran d-men like Leopold would be a good option. Russell or Cole can slide right in.

Anyways, another good win tonight, we've now won three straight 2-1 games.

Elliott is now the best statistical 'tender on the team too...it's amazing how he has turned it around.

I love the Sobotka and Stewart duo as well, fun to watch. Stewart has such soft hands, he makes amazing passes that he never made last season. I like his game as well, much better all-around. In the defensive zone he makes smart plays to get the puck out and get it deep in the offensive zone now.

I know. Its hard to complain when they are winning, but obviously they need to get better offensively. What's weird is that they have shown that ability at times. Maybe they come unglued in the PO's? We can only hope and hope it is, on that front.

I thought Frank played one of the better games he's had all year. He was visibly back-checking, visibly fore-checking, and skating like crazy. He still has a lot to learn, but he really seemed to simplify his game tonight and move his feet so much more then we've seen from him over the last 2ish weeks. Overall a great game by him.

I don't remember the last time I thought Patrick Berglund was useful on the ice. Sure he plays decent defense and all that, whoo-hoo. But he's seriously this season's Stewart. Scoring chances/offensive zone possession go to him to die.

Elliott has played like a man embracing a second chance. I love rooting for that guy, he plays his heart out.

Our 4th line seems like the only line with chemistry/sticking to a gameplan. I don't get why the other lines aren't going, oh yea, that's how we scored goals last year. Maybe we should try that?

Being at the game, I just want to give props to everyone who was there when they announced that they caught the guy from the Boston bombings, that was an awesome moment in the Scott, nobody cared that the play was still going on but everyone stood up and screamed followed by the USA chant, it was just a very special moment and Im so glad I was a part of it

I wouldn't be surprised to see Tarasenko sit out a game. He's played a lot this year and his energy levels have been a topic of discussion recently.

His energy levels have seemed fine recently. Lots of solid chances, just can't bury anything :/

I ws actually kind of surprised they took so long to announce it. They caught him right at the end of the first period and didn't announce til about 7 min left in 2d. I was watching with a buddy and the Stars feed never mentiond it. All the press box folks have Twitter, there is no way they didn't know during the first intermission, as that 15 minutes on Twitter could not have avoided the news. I figured with tweets and texts there would be lots and lots of people in the building who'd learn about it during that intermission.

I remember attending the game in 1991 against Boston back in the old Arena on the day the ground war started during the first Iraq War. The Blues were just killing the Bruins, up 9-2, and the news broke about the ground war starting. Alternating chants of "U-S-A!" and "We want ten!"

Pang leading the crowd in the singing of sweet caroline was pretty awesome as well.

If I'm picking who sits/rests...Berglund is first on the list. He's injured — it's very obvious he's sheltering a shoulder injury, and has been for the past month.

I doubt we see anyone rested, though. They want the 4 seed despite us seeing what that will (almost) inevitably lead to.

Magic numbers:

Columbus – 1
Dallas – 2 – Blues overall playoff magic number is 2
Detroit – 4
Minnesota – 6
San Jose – 9
LA – 10

– San Jose and LA have smaller magic numbers vs. Blues.
– Blues have clinched tiebreak against Columbus and San Jose.
– Blues would likely have tiebreak on Minnesota, would likely lose tiebreak with Dallas, LA. Tossup with Detroit.

Games remaining:

LA (Sun, Tues, Wed, Sat): vs. DAL, @MIN, @DET, vs. SJ
SJ (Sun, Tues, Wed, Sat): vs. CBJ, vs. DAL, @PHX, @LA
STL (Sun, Tues, Thurs, Sat): @COL, vs. COL, vs. CGY, vs. CHI
MIN (Sun, Tues, Fri, Sat): vs. CGY, vs. LA, vs. EDM, @COL
DET (Sat, Mon, Wed, Thurs, Sat): @VAN, vs. PHX, vs. LA, vs. NSH, @DAL
CBJ (Sun, Thurs, Sat): @SJ, @DAL, vs. NSH
DAL (Sun, Tues, Thurs, Sat): @LA, @SJ, vs. CBJ, vs. DET

If Vancouver wins in regulation tonight, then a win Sunday in Colorado clinches the Blues at least 7th (and avoiding Chicago).

Assuming Oshie is ready by playoffs. What lines do we see? It's hard because do you really break up this 4th line? If McDonald is still playing in the regular season, no way Hitch sits him in the playoffs. If you don't break up the 4th line, do you sit Schwartz or Tarasenko?

Steen-Backes-Oshie
Perron-Berglund-Stewart
McDonald-Sobotka-Tarasenko
Cracknell-Porter-Reaves

or if you do break up the 4th line

Steen-Backes-Oshie
Perron-Berglund-Stewart
Schwartz-McDonald-Tarasenko (McDonald did win the cup as the #1C on Anaheim)
Cracknell/Reaves-Sobotoka-Porter

Very very unlikely Oshie is ready by playoffs.
