Tonight will be a part of a back-to-back, as well as, 3 in 4, and 5 in 7 scenario for the CBJ.

With the win, the Kings eliminate Phoenix as they cannot reach 55 points, but they also eliminate Columbus as they can only tie the Kings at 55 points, but cannot catch them in ROW. 6 down, 1 to go.

Per Joe Haggerty, Bruins game postponed. As it should be.

Now that Dallas has lost, the Kings can clinch by forcing OT on sunday.

The Kings can clinch a playoff spot either by Detroit losing (in whatever fashion) tomorrow or by getting at least one point Sunday against the Stars.

Anaheim is very lucky this is a short season, or they would be looking at third in the Pacific.

basically, to miss the playoffs, we would have to lose all 4 of our games AND dallas has to win out AND the redwings have to get nine points in 5 games AND dallas' last game is against detroit... they would have to win it in OT.

Ducks are 4-5 in their last 9. Hardly panic time. Kings are 5-4 in their last 9. Nothing to write home about either.

The Ducks are 5-8-2 (or 5-10 depending on how you look at it) in their last 15 games. During that stretch, they have two separate four game losing streaks where they scored a combined 10 goals in those eight games. While it shouldn't be panic time because they are more than likely going to end-up with the #2 seed because of their hot start, they look awful recently (yes, I've watched).

Let the record state that the kings in the last 9 have 4 wins, 2 losses and three regulation ties. In the playoffs, those aren't bad percentages, especially if we continue to excel in OT.

Anaheim's record would be 3W 4L (against some weak teams) and 2 regulation ties... Not the best for playoffs.

With the exception of some lazy periods, we have every right to be excited for the way we're playing of late (quick improving, Greene's back, etc).

They have every right to be worried (selanne, Ryan, fahst/hiller). They are finally starting to realize they aren't as good as they seem.

7 goals in the last 7 games against mostly crappy teams (except LA) is something to worry about.

Those lost points to the Stars are looking really important now. Kings take 2 of those games they pretty much lost in the 3rd period, and they're sitting 1 point behind the Ducks for the division. There's still a shot, but a long shot at that.
