Did they say why? Is it the hand? Stream I'm watching doesn't show the intermissions.

I'd bet Timmins has a different point of view

Draft is a crapshoot. Habs got excellent players in later rounds like Gallagher, Halak, Markov, Hudon, Ryder, and so on... Too bad they draft crap for so many years with their first overall picks in the 80's-90's and a good part of the 2000's....

Draft is not a crapshoot, not if you do your homework properly. Thank you Trevor Timmins.

It's not a crapshoot at all. That's why scouts are hired.
Our draft has been great since Timmins joined. That's not a coincidence or luck.

Luck does play a significant part though. Player development isn't an exact science.

I have never seen a team get away with as much interference as Boston. The refs are pathetic today.

So far no points for Letang. Icing on the cake if the score stays this way until the end.

I disagree. You draft a player because you see the potential in him. Once he's drafted, it's up to your team to develop him in the best player he can be, based on the potential. Sometimes players exceed the expectations but that's not because the scouts didn't see the potential.

I used to think the same way, why would you pick someone in the 5-6th if you think he'll become top talent. Could be various reasons for that, but I don't think ''not seeing the potential'' is one of them.

Letang's stats are padded with BS 2nd assists. For example against the Habs:

Even though Kennedy clearly tips his outlet pass he got the assist.

Also, for those who missed it. Jack Edwards had to issue a public apology to Matt Cooke, the Pens organization and the NHL fans for something he said about Cooke in the first period.

I can't remember what he said, but it was something like "Anyone who votes for Cooke for the <whatever> trophy after what he did to Marc Savard has brain damage". Or some such crap.

Wow if we can win tonight it makes things interesting. Cause if we do and Boston either loses tomorrow to Florida (bloody unlikely) or Philly Tuesday (somewhat more likely) in regulation, we clinch the division with wins over the Devils and Jets. Even if Boston were to beat Tampa Thursday after another loss. That's cause even 4 points back Boston can't catch us in ROW at that point and even if they could we own head to head tiebreak.

Also if we win and the Leafs fail to get 2 points, we're guaranteed to finish ahead of them for either the division or 4th. If Ottawa loses or gets just 1 point and we win, we clinch over them for home ice too. Easier said than done for this Hab team. It's possible we play Ottawa even if we fall to 4th. They've looked hot lately. I'd rather play them than Toronto but their defense and goaltending worries me. We'd be outchancing them in a series in my mind but they'd be opportunistic and rely on Anderson.

Pens win and Youppi does his job in swatting back that pesky bear. Now all we need is Habs to win and get a bit of breathing room.

Damn, would have liked Iggy to have the GWG and not Letang (who was, hate to say it, incredible).

Context being Subban needs to ratchet his game up in these last 4 to push ahead of Letang.

Solid outcome of the game though.
