Moose heads with more quality chances through 1. Peppering fucale is a bad idea, they shouldn't let him get comfy. Great goal by Mac and almost an unbelievable one by drouin. Frk is the same as always: one goal one penalty. Huskies trying to draw a few calls though.

The one huskies goal was a bad defensive effort, not on fucale at all. Fournier is one of the most popular players on the team now, never seen him put less than 100%.

Unbelievable atmosphere here. Everyone standing during the penalty shot.

So far this might be the best game I've seen out of Mackinnon. His skating is on another level right now.

Bad boarding on weeger, no call, weeger comes back and plasters the guy who hit him! I love it... I don't love the roughing call on him and the refs not letting him fight.

Im not worried. Its playing with fire a bit but my call for moose vs the other remaining three teams was that the huskies are their easiest opponent. Huskies will score more than armada or drakkar but they will give up even more.

Edit: nevermind. Telus feed is behind (never thought i'd miss eastlink - altho if i were local id be at the game) so i figured moose went up from 4-3 to 5. Not a two man adv. Def cause for concern for the 5 on 3 to yield a goal against. Not worried about the game tho

Great game to watch.

This is just my personal opinion, but Andrighetto was the best individual player out there tonight. Team would be smart to pick him up in the draft this year (yes, im aware he's 20).

Gut-check victory for the Moose tonight. Man was that ever some sloppy defensive zone coverage tonight.

Don't even get me started on the officials tonight. Why is it every time Langil is one of the refs, you are left scratching your head with the penalty calls.

Great game by Nate. Mack was far and away the best player on the ice... not that other guy.

Might as well do the +/- thing. I was in the Upper Bowl so may not have had the perspective some of you did.

+ MacKinnon, could have racked up even more goals and points, he was on another level in the third
+ Drouin, a couple sloppy plays but also some jaw-dropping ones. Can't complain about 5 points either. Also nice job giving the EN to Mac.
+ Powerplay, this is clearly the Mooseheads' strength. Great mix of players and some really good chances. 2/5 is misleading but still solid.
+ Fucale, can't blame him for some bad defensive plays
+ Murphy, solid offensive spark
+ Weegar, love this guy and his response to the boarding was great.
+ Crowd, great atmosphere

= Konrad, some clutch blocks and solid PP, some bad turnovers.
= Frk, love the goal and the shot but the penalties have to stop
= Fournier, didn't really notice him after the first
= 2nd line, Some decent chances but this was Mac and Drouin's game.

- Defensive coverage on the goals
- Inconsistent reffing, bad for both teams
- Bobby Mac's voice
- The two Huskies fans behind me who spent the entire game complaining about Drouin's penalty shot

I'll add a + to that. Falkenham. He was used very well in this game and showed good grit, skill, hard work, and hockey sense. One play in particular where the Rouyn defender was letting a play develop as he waited behind the net with the puck, the winger starts to come behind the net to retrieve the puck and Falks reads the play and cuts it off before the winger can even get behind the net. I was really impressed with him tonight.

- Matt Boudreau. He was a liability all over the ice tonight. Probably his worst game as a Moose. He didn't play much in the 3rd and was replaced by Falkinham.

Best guy on the ice tonight? #55 Jay Doiron, played for the zebras.

Langille and Maillet were going to let the 'too many men' go uncalled until Doiron blew it down. It appeared that they both tried to talk him out of it after the whistle but he stuck to his guns and was very vocal in telling them that he saw it. Props to him for not letting useless refs blow the game.

Langille even put his arm up then put it straight back down.

I'm gonna say it before Huskies fans do: Weak call on the penalty shot. There's a reason the whole Metro Centre was shocked.

However, there was a total non-call on a penalty shot later IMO that balances it somewhat. Also the BS call that led to the 5-3 in the third.

Boudreau deserves a minus.. Worst game I've seen him play in awhile.. Thankfully we can afford to sit guys like that in the 3rd though. That's not to say it's fine, I want him to come back tomorrow and play a great game because his line took a lot of criticism last playoffs for disappearing, and I think they know that.

Plusses...

Weegar. One of my favorite players because he does almost everything right now, and seems to fly under the radar. Every draft and junior team has that player that people will say is a steal on draft day, and I believe that's Weegar... He's 18, that's why he's ranked in the mid-late rounds, not because of ability... 1st-2nd round potential, too bad he's not a year younger.

Falkenham, Andrews, MacAulay, and even Beauchemin for that matter... Every shift these guys go hard, don't stop and create something. Poor Beauch, all the ability of a 2nd liner, and the work ethic of a good energy guy, but gets almost no shifts.
The other 3 hit, skate fast and kill penalties, kudos.

#55 Jay Doiron is it, the linesman? I think he needs the orange stripes on his zebra uni... Better eyes than LAngille, and Maillet... Every game with Langille we get 2+ goal reviews, ridiculous... Doiron was thorough, and from what we normally get from Q league refs, I'd like to see him become a ref lol.

23g's for the 50/50....

+ Beauchemin, Ryan, and Falkenheim. All worked their tails off last night to get the ice time they deserved.
+ Ashley for making the crying gesture to the Huskies player.
+ PP moved the puck great last night

- Ciampini finished a couple of checks (surprisingly) but his foot speed really hurt last night. Had a chance for a couple of breaks but was simply too slow or too choppy with the puck.
- Defensive zone coverage. The Moose were sloppy last night and luckily Fucale was on his game. They need to tighten up.
- Discipline, refs played a big factor, but the boys have more discipline then that. MacKinnon, Frk, and Hardie instantly come to mind of guys who the Huskies were getting off their game.

Agree that MacKinnon's penalty was bad but if yesterday was MacKinnon's off game Gretzky would have a run for his money.

i'm really proud of my team

i know they dont have much chance but i love the guts they are showing so far

two opposite team as you got the rich team and the small market team who doesn't have acess to the top elite players

Murphy is absolutely terrible! Just brutal! He's responsible for the first 3 goals against because of bonehead plays and low hockey IQ. I want to see Lovel in next game.

Trading for Murphy was the wrong move for this year.

The Mooseheads have been HORRIBLE in their own zone.
