The top line is,

Hudon Tenute Collberg

So far Collberg has shown good speed.

Really don't understand Mayer starting again and Tokarski not even dressed. I wonder if Tokarski is even going to be back next season?

What are you talking about? They're starting all 3 goalies for the 3 games in a row. Tok getting the middle game. Mayer signed a deal in the Swiss league for 2013-14. He's gone and it'll be Tok + vet backup probably.

Beaulieu with impressive stats, 29 points on D, -7 on a very bad team.

Bulldogs up 2-0. Beaulieu has a pair of assists, including one to set up Leblanc's short handed goal.

Collberg, a shift or two before the 2-0 goal, made an incredible pass to Tenute. He picked up the puck along the boards, used his speed to get around the defender, and then set up Tenute with a perfect perfect pass. Tenute was alone in front of the net, but nailed it off the post.

Exactly, Mayers gone therefore should not be getting any games. Very bad coaching on this team. Tokarski should be the workhorse, common sense. I can see the new guy getting games to see what he's got, but Mayer - no way. Will be interesting as tokarskis contract ends.

Why? It's pointless. Why risk an injury from overworking him 2 games in 3 nights? They did the right thing.

Hudon assists on a goal by Pateryn.

Then the Ice Caps score. 3-1 Hamilton.

I'm assuming from the 3 players that got a minuses that Vail is yet again playing with Stortini and Hagel.

Lefebvre buries the empty netter to make it 4-1. Archambault gets an assist to pick up his first career point in the AHL and Beaulieu gets his third assist of the night.

Great showing from Collberg. Hoping for expectations to be tempered is impossible though.

How you give us some more details as to what he did in the game. And how was Kristo?

I'm sure Tokarski is thrilled to be a healthy scratch again, to me it makes zero sense to have him in the press box when Mayer is supposed to be done. But according to the Dogs play by play, he said that Mayer may be sticking around next year as he said it appears he has an out clause. He didn't go into more detail so I don't know if was speculating that Mayer may be back or if he heard that the Habs are considering bringing him back.

If Mayer is gone then i'm at a loss as to why he keep getting starts, agree as I also feel Tokarski should be the workhorse as you want to see what you have vs something that's supposed to be leaving.

Why play any prospects then if you are worried about injuries. Most of the prospects in Hamilton should be back with the team next year, I'd rather see them playing in front of the goalie that I assume is going to be their starting goalie next year. This isn't just about this weekend, personally I don't see why Mayer continues to get any starts as he has been.

Collberg looked good with his speed/skating. Was on the ice for one goal and was involved in the play. Kristo came close to scoring his first as he was next to the net but the defense tied up his stick but Lefebvre got the rebound and burried it. Hudon was impressive as usual, he just knows what to do with the puck, such a smart and creative player.

It seems like management (not the coaching staff) has been on the hunt for AHL players. They've have given several tryouts to ECHL players and some college players, they've given their junior players a shot, signed Kristo after his season ended and brought Collberg over from Europe for a look see. They even tried to bring Nygren over.

I am not sure if the team is evaluating these players on 3-4 game tryouts so they have a better talent pool to choose from next year but it seems obvious that Hamilton has become a bigger priority.

With a couple of players graduating from junior and college ranks along with a year of experience for the returning players and perhaps a veteran or two, the Bulldogs should be much more competitive and the player development should improve (hopefully)

So if we re-did last year's draft, is it safe to say that Hudon would have been at least a 2nd round pick?

Yeah it's brutal now.

Why do people even bother.

It's neither true or funny.

Good to hear the kids are doing well.

Beaulieu.

Lines for tonight:

Hudon - Tenute - Kristo
Bournival - Nokelainen - Leblanc
Archambault - Belzile - Lefebvre
Hagel - Vail - Stortini

Beaulieu - Pateryn
Tinordi - Ellis
St-Denis - Ross

Tokarski
Gervais-Chouinard

No Collberg for tonight, just precautionary. The Bulldogs don't want him playing three in three after the concussion.
