Including playoffs, Schiefele has 100 points this year. He did it in only 55 games.

Scheif is a beauty. Love how he plays such an aggressive and fearless game around the net, and can also score from distance with that quick release of his.

That's so awesome. Basically Galchenyuk's production rate sustained over a longer period.

Just looking at some of those old clips of Scheif... you can really see how he's really developed physically over last offseason. If he can improve this offseason by an equal amount in both his skating and strength I think I'll guarantee that he finds a roster spot next season.

Just thought I'd put his post season production into perspective:

Hall had

36 points in 20 games for a 1.8 ppg. He captured the OHL PO MVP award as well as the top scorer award.

35 points in 19 games for a 1.84 ppg.

Tavaras in his final year had 21 points in 14 PO games.

Scheifele has 21 in 10 and doesn't look like he's slowing down anytime soon. Granted both players were a year younger and Hall did it twice but its pretty nice company for Scheifele to be keeping.

Year and a half. Tavares (September) and Hall (November) are late-birthdays in their birth year.

With all due respect, that age difference is absolutely massive in terms of prospect development.

Schiefele is having an incredible run, but it's apples and oranges comparing him to those players in their draft years.

I agree. Better CHL playoff comparisons based on age and development (i.e. 2 years after being drafted).

Jeff Carter: 7 GP, 5G, 5A
Ryan Getzlaf: 12 GP, 4G, 13A
Corey Perry: 18 GP, 11G, 27A

Nowhere near 2.1PPG. Scrubs.

Yea that is a nice grouping in their 2nd year after their draft like Mark. Good to know our player is holding up against an elite beta test!! Interesting that all these tall guys had a bit of a slower path to the NHL. My do I hope Mark continues to track and troll this group

Some quick math...

Getz with 17 points/12 games = 1.41 ppg

Schief is at 2.1

2.1/1.41 = 1.49

Mark Schiefele has 149% of the talent of Ryan Getzlaf. That's the pure cold hard mathematical facts. Getzlaf's best season was 91 points. Therefore, Schiefele will put up a (91 * 1.49) 135-ish point season. Mark it down, folks!

As an engineering student who is 93rd percentile among engineers in his stats course, I also approve of this.

As a guy who failed Stats and never took it again, I have no idea what's going on. But I'm inclined to agree.
