I actually view him as a very good defensive coach. If you look at our D's with last year's point of view. Diaz, Emelin, Bouillon, Gorges, Markov, Subban. We thought that they would get dominated. But, they didn't, and they actually were rock solid before Emelin got hurt. I think JJ had done a fantastic job, especially with P.K.
yeah so 5 mins of video footage makes you know precisely how JJ coaches? take a chill pill buddy. If you're going to bad trip every time the team slumps maybe you should switch teams. Or maybe choose a different sport entirely. Tennis is less streaky!
Why didn't you make this thread after the first couple of episodes of 24CH and when the Habs were winning?
He's done fine. Subban and Diaz have been great this year, Emelin played a huge role for us until he got hurt and Markov, Gorges and Bouillon have been brutal lately mainly because they've had to play so many minutes this year but were solid up until 2 weeks ago.
The PK has been bad mainly since we lack a big crease clearing guy ever since Gill left and aside from Halpern, our centres are terrible on faceoffs.
I think it has something to do with our horrible defense
Our horrible defense that has a potential Norris winner, two guys in the top 10 for points for dmen (would possibly have 3 if Diaz was still healthy), and allows 5th fewest shots per game.
The same defense that was incapable of shutting the door last season and saw countless leads blown.
If you look at our D, the sum of its parts is heck of a lot better than its individuals parts. If anything, JJD has made lemonade with lemons. And this despite a lengthy absence of one of our top 4 guy, and lack of any big size dmen capable of being physical in front of the net.
The PK has sucked but I'm beginning to think a good part of it is the goalie who can't stop a beach ball this season. The minute he's exposed a little it's in the net (ie on the PK, and the last few games).
What JJD suffer the most from is not being Robinson and speaking French. Two fatal flaws amongst fans on this board.
